"I used to live at these apartments. Very nice and we'll kept apartments. If anything needs fixed, they're usually right on it. However, they're very stingy when it comes to giving you back your deposit. My apartment was we'll kept up. No stains in the carpet, no holes in the wall, nothing broken, just the usually wear and tear and I didn't get back a dime of my deposit"

"This is one of the nicest appartment complexes For the money. They have an awesome maintenance response team. It's an older complex so there are bound to be issues to be fixed but I've never had to wait more than 1 day for maintenance. I would recommend th iui s place ."

"Management is very rude and disrespectful. The walls are very very very thin. You can hear your neighbors do everything. It's not for people under the age of 40yrs. The elderly residents are not too much fond of young people. Management doesn't do the proper background checks according to the landlords policy. If you have a felony management wouldn't even do the background check. They will dismiss you on the spot. Very disrespectful. I've wasted a whole year in this crappy place. I will not recommend this place at all."

"I spent almost 2 years at Southwind Apartments and my experiences living there were surprisingly lovely! After searching for a new apartment out of state, I can now fully appreciate how spoiled I was at Southwind. The windows are huge! No really. They are gigantic!! I loved that the apartment had an in-unit washer and drier so there was no visiting laundry mats or sharing the rickety overpriced units most complexes sport. The apartments were surprisingly quiet. My neighbor always asked if I could hear him singing at the top of his lungs from my place. Nope! Not once. I never heard the kids downstairs either. All of my neighbors were friendly, too. The balconies were all recently renovated and were the best place to relax on a warm summer night. My land lady was always pleasant to chat with and more than reasonable when I had issues (which were very very few). I was impressed with how generous she was when I had a job emergency (thanks government shut-down!) and had to relocate on fairly short notice. I know that Michigan City, in general, isn't typically thought of as an appealing place to live but I never had issues with crime or noise. This complex is tucked behind a little tree lot, old field, and a retirement community so the traffic is pretty low. I loved that the management appreciated local wildlife by providing seed feeders for birds near the main office and kept the pool impeccably clean throughout the summer. Thank you Southwind! I'm only sorry I couldn't take you with me on my move!!"
