Condos at The Shores 10 S West St, Williamsburg, MI 49690

"Nice view of the Bay, but the decor/furniture is rundown and dated. The armchair in the living area looked very worn. A piece of one of the barstools broke off while my husband was sitting on it. Pergo floors had some spots that were not level. This was a convenient place to stay, as it had a kitchen, so we could prepare our own breakfast every morning. There was a patio table and chairs out on the deck outside our condo, which I’m sure would be a nice place to sit and enjoy the view in the summer, but we didn’t get to take advantage of it because it was too chilly while we were there. We are NOT picky when it comes to hotels, as we’ve stayed all over the world, in some real dives in Third World countries, but I was seriously underwhelmed by this place. I would not stay here again if we were paying for our stay (we were here for a work conference, so employer covered it). I’m honestly baffled how it’s so highly rated. I guess people are just happy to have a lake view."

"The condo itself is adorable and it's quiet, private and by the water. the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the toilet hisses every few mins(kept the door closed so it didn't bother us) and the paint in the bathroom is severely chipping and needs to be redone. the bathroom just overall needs work. it's not the worst, but it needs to be fixed up correctly so the ceiling doesn't start molding like it is starting to. floor tiles are chipped, it's all cosmetic but if you're not super high maintenance the place is overall super cute otherwise. wish we would've asked for an upper floor room so we didn't have the pool directly outside our windows. also appreciative of the 11am(noon because we asked for it) check out time."

"So this one hurts because we had been really looking forward to trying the Grand Traverse resort and Spa. It’s a very popular high end resort and spa, so we were surprised to be so disappointed in our visit. We stayed at their condos on the shore , be advised this is not on property but rather about half a mile away and while this wasn’t really a problem we instantly ran into issues. Small ones at first. Walking into the condo we were surprised at how spacious it was and the views were wonderful, the joy soon faded. Simple stuff was quickly handled by a call to the front desk ie. Blown light bulb, tv not working however when we began to settle in ,the unit began revealing its age and cleanliness. We had to have the bed skirt removed due to what can be best described as “organic stains “, which was not replaced for the remainder of our visit. There were stains and minor damage an almost every wall, the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were small and also uncomfortable. These may appear as nitpicking but please consider that this was not a cheap stay and we work very hard and had saved up for some time for this hopefully romantic weekend. Our neighbor began having a very loud and very vocal fight with someone so much so we contemplated notifying the police. We discovered that some of the units were not all owned by the resort but rather privately owned and could be rented as Air BnB instead to anyone. I will say that once I notified management of all these issues they did try and make it better by offering dinner at their ridiculously over priced restaurant “Aerie” and breakfast at the much more logical restaurant near the lobby. Unfortunately it was too little too late and we really had a disappointing and over priced time. We do want to point out that some of the staff were truly wonderful and very accommodating, however we won’t return. It is important to note that Maintenance staff and housekeeping were very fast and pleasant and if not for them it would have been far worse. For the money we paid we certainly could have gotten far better for less."

"Great condo units that are available for rent through the Traverse City Resort! There is a shuttle that goes back and further between the condos and the resort that across the street. The condos are each decorated fairly nice and has a great private beach. There are chairs laid out on the beach for anyone’s use and the pool area is also great. There is even a little lunch spot on the pool area that has food and drinks to order. You can also rent boats and jet skis through the resort staff that’s located on site. Great choice for those who want easy access to the beach!"
