"There are a couple good Bait & Tackle shops on Lake St. Clair...but SDI is by far my favorite. Great selection of tackle, especially ice fishing gear. Need bait? They don't count the minnows they give you, they WEIGH them, and the price per scoop can't be beat. John and his staff are great. The other day a fellow angler we know mistakenly left his landing net at the pier. We brought the net to SDI and John called him up (he had his number because the angler was currently leading the Big Perch contest) and then offered to hold his net in the back room until that angler could come in and pick it up. So for the few reviews knocking the customer service...I just don't get it."

"This is one of better shops near metro. Jon has been helpful with tips and lure setups on many occasions and its appreciated. They have a good selection and the store is easy to find. Open at 6 am in winter."

"Stumbled upon this place on YouTube watching some ice fishing on Lake St Clair and someone mentioned this place, the owner and that they make there own rods and reels I looked them up and realized they have an online store! Great, great selection and very fair prices. Rods shipped to my home in 2 days and were packed very carefully. Large selection of everything hard water as well!!!"

"Everytime I've shopped here I'm always impressed with selection and condition of the merchandise. You get the best bang for your buck with the minnows here and they have a lot of specialty lures and jigs I've not found elsewhere."

"This place has a great selection of bait and tackle, however they lack in customer service. I’ve bought a few rods from them before and decided it was a pretty good place, 2 days ago I decided to buy a Shimano zodias rod from them. After buying it I realized that not only was I over charged but their prices are actually quite higher than other shops I’ve seen it at. The tag was removed but the rod obviously still brand new i tried to return it. They told me due to the plastic that is around the tag not being the original one they won’t return it. Honestly I don’t know how u can have a return policy if the return policy relies on the owners mood. That being said if u are looking the purchase tack of bait this or a great place if you’re looking to buy gear I would suggest going somewhere with real customer service"
