"Wear comfortable shoes because it can be a lot of walking and climbing. I got some great pictures but yeah it can be your workout for the day. I love the scenic drive. If you go during the fall you can see the leaves changing colors."
"One of Michigan’s gems. On this visit we just sampled like 1% of what’s on offer by staying down in the Platte River area. On other trips we’ve done it all, though, and it’s spectacular. First-timers should be sure to review their viewing plans with the kind and knowledgeable folks at a visitor center to get all the nuances and hidden glories revealed."
"Insanely gorgeous views and plenty of trails and sights to see. Getting to the lake from the main dune climb is not an easy ordeal I highly suggest bringing water and planning to take breaks. Some of the hills and valleys on the trail feel steeper then the main climb. Once you get to the shore though you have an amazing view of the lake and the islands to the north. You might even see a Freighter off in the distance."
"Beautiful dunes. 1.6 mile hike to lake Michigan. If you hike it you will be going up and down some steep and very high dunes that are of course soft sand. It does sap your energy going up. The view as you get close to the beach is worth the effort. Go barefoot or bring a change of shoes and socks lol."
"This park is awesome. Fun for everyone! Who doesn't like running down sand dunes? And if you don't, you can bbq and watch everyone else! The beaches are some of the best in the great lakes with clear water, no crowds, and plenty of sand. There are so many hiking and biking trails of different lengths for whatever you want to do."
