"This guy is the biggest crook I've ever worked with. Flat out stole 15k from my company. Thankfully I didn't go into business with him like he asked me to. Nice guy, awful businessman."
"Any of the good reviews herein are fortunate and am glad for you. Our experience is similar in nature as the other bad post. It just comes down to integrity and Owner Eric and his side kick Pam have none. My lawyer was ready to press criminals charges until Eric refunded our money. I could not believe the level of lies with a straight face. We went with Lakeside Surfaces which was very professional, actually a bit less in cost, and the pleasant experience a project should be. They’ll be doing our kitchen project summer of 2023. UPDATE: Arrested."
"On October 19th 2020 my Wife and I visited Granite Direct on 3851 Model Ct Grand rapids, MI 49512 after previously discussing our needs on the phone with them. We presented our design need to Eric, who presented himself as the owner/ manager and he offered modifications that we agreed with on the same visit. We chose the cabinet, quartz countertop/full wall backsplash, sink, hood, and microwave. The set price including removal of old cabinet and installation was $ which we paid 50% down payment on the same day on the promise that the kitchen will be done before Christmas. We also discussed possible ceiling and other projects for the future. We explained to Eric that the Christmas deadline is nice. However, a little delay is fine by us as long as the project is well planned and executed promptly and quickly because due to dietary restrictions in our family, eating outside is not an option and every meal has to be prepared at home. So minimum installation time is our top priority. The original receipt of $ down payment was emailed to us. However, our project file lacked clarity, the project manager, Pam, was always unaware of what was promised and discussed on our meeting with Eric and we noticed that the subsequent receipt, from Elite home & Stone supply not Granite Direct, had the wrong dollar figures. And our continuous calls to have the correct items on the order sheet, dollars amount fixed, and have Eric and Pam on the same page were exhausting and failed to achieve our goals. However, Eric continued to assured us that he had everything under controlled, the cabinets was on order, and there is nothing to worry about because he has all the information that we agreed to and discussed on our October 19th meeting. And he did correct the initial invoice. Long story short, Eric lied repeatedly. He claimed that we will have the kitchen in December, then February, then March, Then May, and so on. I believed he took advantage of the fact that I spent time in the hospital due to Covid-19 in December and suffered the long haul affects for months after that. So, when I started to get better at the end of March, I started to insist to get serious answers. It wasn’t until May that he finally apologized of his behavior (which I have the record of) and ordered the cabinets and shared the cabinet’s company contact information so we can verify that he actually ordering the cabinets this time, which arrived at his warehouse in July. In August 6th 2021, He texted me to let me know that a contractor will work on the kitchen on Wednesday 11th of August to remove the cabinets and install a new one and it should take him 3 days. Well, it took 14 days with many parts to be replaced due to damage sometime in the future! Eric came however on August 18th to complete the countertop measurements so the countertop can be ready within 7-10 days later. On August 19th, Pam called and asked us to change our countertop choice or we have to pay a significant amount more than our agreed upon price, she didn’t specify the dollar amount. So we had to change or original choice. weeks later, I tried to reach out to Eric and ask why the further delay on communication to get the project done! And after ignoring us for almost another week, he demanded additional $5000 claiming that the back splash, which was his own original recommendation on the first visit before we paid the down payment, was never included in the final price. After he missed countless deadlines and our family encountered a significant tough time and a considerable emotional rollercoaster for what is supposed to be a happy and feel-good investment, I found it very hard to pay him any further amount without having the project completely done. Our family was drained, exhausted, hungry, and upset. Our house was a mess and we didn’t have a kitchen for a few months and the project was not even close to be completed by this company. We ended up contracting another company (Granite City Inc) who completed the project in a couple of weeks for excellent price and phenomenal work standard."
"Terrible service, Eric told me that the whole process is going to take 1 week but that didn't happen, It took more than 1 month. After he got my first check (half payment) he never picked up the phone, never text me back.I had to go to the office 5 times - imagine 5 times in order to talk to them. I would NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE doing business with this place -NEVER. Thay installed my countertops 2 weeks ago, still waiting for bathroom backsplash, I'm tired of him.Eric wants money but no job done"
"Excellent job! Eric was very helpful throughout the process of getting a piece of granite for our laundry room. It took less than a week from the time they came to our home to measure, to the time it was cut and installed. The installation team was also fantastic. Highly recommended!!"
