Reviews of Joseph J. Delia Jr. Park
"It's a beautiful park, enjoyed watching the many types of water birds."
"The Park is in 2 parts. Off Ryan north of 18 mile is the dog park & tennis courts. Off 18 mile West of Ryan are the soccer & baseball fields, children's play area, and picnic tables. Both areas have public restrooms. Both are connected by a walking trail. Dog park needs some shade but otherwise is great. Seperate area for small dogs. Water available. Requires a key card from Sterling Heights Park & Recreation for a small fee. Available for non-residents. You need a copy of your dog's up to date shots and dog tags."
"There is a nice playground, one large pavilion with bathrooms--seemingly always in use on weekends, adequate parking, open lawn area for running around or maybe sports. We go for the paved walking path mostly through woods along side of, and sometimes crossing, a small creek. Woods seem unimproved. If the city ever planted desirable trees in the woods, they seem overrun with invasive species. Lots of invasive buckthorn. Creek is clogged with branches and tree trunks in some spots. There is one area in the sun facing the parking lot where a few desirable native perennials and annuals were planted recently. Time will tell if they survive or get swallowed by grass. Not sure why, the city insists on planting invasive, non-native lawn grasses along a path in a natural space. It would be nice if Sterling Hts would join the 21st century and make some effort to understand and restore nature."
"Nice park lots of sports activities including baseball soccer ect very clean park with restrooms as well"
"Multiple big open soccer fields and football field. Baseball diamond and trails. They also have a playground. Very clean and scenic. There's a lake, nice big homes, green trees, lush green grass. There's even a big hill. It's great for playing and picnics. My only criticism is one of the soccer fields had a lot of geese dung scattered around. Aside from that it is great."
