"Unfortunately under Santarossa’s care I lost a tooth. I have been going to him for over seven years. When I started to go to him he identified a back molar that had work done on it before that he said needed to be monitored as it had tilted toward the space where a previous tooth long ago had been extracted. I use an electric toothbrush twice a day and floss daily. Additionally I use a water pick for additional flushing of debris. Because one area of my teeth gets excessive buildup of tartar I go in four times a year not two to get dental cleanings. Occasionally if I travel it turns in to three times in a given calendar year. In short I take great care of my teeth and did whatever Santarossa recommended. A fully mouth x ray was done in July 2021 and checking with his office the next X-rays were done February 2023. At that time Santarossa identified the molar that was described earlier as having a darkened area. He drilled and found extensive decay and filled it in. Shortly afterwards I came in to let him know I had a sour taste in that area and he indicated it was enclosed. Regrettably I then started to have pain and went to an endodontist who took a CT cone beam image which identified a hole in my tooth which meant a root canal was not possible and I would have to have my tooth extracted. ($365) I went to an oral surgeon and the tooth has been extracted. I will be going back to see if an implant with a sinus lift will be possible. The cost will be $5000-7000 and will take most likely take a year to complete. In my opinion if there is a tooth that is suspect that tooth should be x rayed more than 19 months apart. Also in my opinion we go to dentists so we can avoid losing teeth."
