I was looking for just the right shoe (s) for a trip overseas-- one that gave my feet ankles stability, was skid proof on wet cobblestones, looked good, fit well, and were comfortable!! I know I could never have found the level service and the careful attention that the associates at New Balance gave me if I'd tried on my own. "Had to come to this location on account they closed the one by Lakeside.. Appears to be a larger store, but the same helpful people. Lady named... Jennifer, I believe sold me my last pair and then sold me another pair today. Stepped on their little measuring machine, still carrying the weight in same locations. She chose 3 different pairs, one the same as I was wearing (880) and then a different pair (840). I liked the difference in the other pair (840), but both were nice. I just may end up buying the 880s online if I find a sale. Edit: Apparently I have purchased this new shoe once before (the 840), because I still have the old pair as a "getting dirty" shoe.. Anyway, that shoe lasted me about a year so I imagine these will too. Well worth the price."
