"Dr Alexiou gave me my life back. He is caring, understanding, listens, and has fantastic bed side manner. I had increased Intercranial pressure in my head and no one knew. I talked to ophthalmologists and other doctors and kept getting dismissed. But Alexiou listened. He ordered a spinal tap and we discovered the increased pressure (over double normal pressure) and relieved it. I felt better walking out of that procedure than I ever did walking in. Thank you Dr Alexiou"
"In general, I have had very little good to say about the administration of IHA (not Trinity Health). I've been working with them for 14 years and, honestly, I think the admin is not patient focused at all. So, if you are reading the reviews and see stuff about admin problems, probably it is true. There are some administrative staff who are very kind and helpful and some who seem under-trained and not very empathetic. This is not a small-town, doctor's office. That being said, their patient volume is very high and I'm glad they exist. As for practitioners, I've been seeing Dr. Kraft for migraines. She is empathetic and smart about medications and options, as well as how insurance works. The "how insurance works" is critical, because migraine medications are very expensive and insurance does not like to cover them. The experience has been smooth and life changing. Dr. Kraft has been very responsive via email, which is helpful, since it takes weeks to get an appointment."
"If I could give Dr. Maideniuc a 0 star I would. She puts on a caring front at your first appointment then passes you off to her Nursing staff. I tried to schedule a follow-up appointment regarding my still undiagnosed symptoms of constant dizziness and headache and was told I could see her NP instead but it would be another month out before I could. She changed my meds so many different times in 3 months without even speaking to me herself directly, instead she communicated with me through her nursing staff and sometimes it would take a day or two before I had my questions answered regarding the medication side effects I was experiencing. Mind you these were heart attack symptoms. Then when the staff would call me back, they had no idea what was going on because there were never any proper notations put in my chart. I am so incredibly disappointed with this entire office. I called to switch to a different neurologist in the same office thinking maybe I could get some sort of proper treatment, instead they told me to go somewhere else. This is a perfect example of how doctors only care about the bottom line and if the insurance has paid for the visit."
"I’ve been to IHA Neurology in the past and it wasn’t the best experience (i.e. I was so upset I didn’t bother leaving a review because the current two-stars spoke for themselves...) BUT it seems the office has really made sure their staff was either retrained or replaced. Reception was incredibly friendly and when I wanted to switch doctors within the office, yes I had to wait a little bit (the office manager needs to authorize any changes), they switched me to Dr. Kraft with pretty much no problem or extra hassle (beyond the short wait). Now, Dr. Kraft is an amazing doctor. She’s very thorough and very kind. She listens and while I have a plethora of vague issues that kind of overlap with other specialists, she is willing to rule things out and does very thorough lab work. I’m honestly so impressed that although my previous experience with IHA Neurology was so negative I would have easily dropped a One-Star review, my visit today blew me away. You can tell they’ve been working to improve their customer service etiquette and all of the folks I interacted with- from setting the appointment to getting all of the pertinent information at the end- were very pleasant. Well done! I don’t leave reviews often, but I think the work IHA has been doing warrants some recognition."
"First off I would like to say how rude the receptionist was on the phone, I have been a patient here for 3 years! I called I to switch Neurologist because the doctor I'd been seeing just wasn't helping! I was still having 10-15 migraine days a month. I have tried 15 different migraine preventives/migraine medications over the last 3 years! (Not to mention the side effects from these medications are awful) When I called to see if I could meet with a different doctor there, she proceeded to tell me I was not aloud to switch doctors and would need approval! At this point I am misrable and just want help- I called my primary to get a referral for UofM Neurology department, which typically takes months! I got the sweetest receptionist who scheduled my appointment and called me back a few days later to let me know there was a cancelation and squeezed me in sooner. I met with the doctor, he listened and wanted to try something new! Since that day I have not had a migraine! two weeks later the receptionist for IHA called to tell me my transfer had been accepted. It's ridiculous it took two weeks for them to get back to me when all I was asking for was to see another doctor in that office! I have never left a review for anything but after this experience I had enough! I want people to know there are options out there and you can get relief from migraines."
