"I came to her with a lot of unresolved trauma and she didn't know how to help me. I felt like I was talking to a wall. I opened up and cried in her office for about 6 months. After I sobbed for a few minutes, she would silently stare at me, and I would shut down until I began to dissociate. I didn't know what to expect but she literally gave me nothing. Instead of helping me through it, she would sit there in silence and stare, just running the clock. But I kept coming back, and it never amounted to anything except me wanting to blame myself for not being able to do more in those sessions without her help. I wasn't functioning well in my day to day life and I confided in her that I was considering applying for disability. I feel I was judged because of that, and she actually began to impede the process. Six months in, she still neglected to make a current diagnosis (actually, she said "depression" 5 minutes after meeting me), which prevented me from obtaining external resources to get help. I want a therapist that I can tell things to without fear. Yvonne was cold, lacked compassion, ran the clock and legitimately did not care about my recovery. After 6 months I abruptly ceased to make appointments and never heard from her again. If you are considering SSDI or have serious trauma to heal from, I recommend starting elsewhere."
