The facility is always super clean, contributing to a serene and peaceful environment. Instead of the usual waiting room, you usually go straight to your therapist. This setup makes it easier to feel comfortable, a significant plus when doing therapy. This center is a refreshing change from the more clinical, medical facility-like counseling locations."

"Our experience at the Fountain Hill Center was anything but pleasant. If I could give it a zero rating I would but Google requires a minimum 1 star rating to post a comment. A judge at the Kent County Friend of Court ordered my family member to go to mandatory counseling, with Amy Van Gunst, who supposedly specializes in restoring broken relationships with parents and their children. This couldn't have been further from the truth! Because it was court ordered, her hourly counseling rate was higher than normal. In the beginning, the mandatory counseling seemed to be helping and Amy Van Gunst even sent a report to the judge recommending that supervised visits be removed because she saw enough improvements within their counseling sessions to restore complete parenting time. After Amy submitted this report to the judge, she immediately wanted my family member to increase their counseling sessions to 2-3 times per week which would've been $400-$600. Since my family member couldn't afford the excessive costs due to her low income, she informed Amy that she wouldn't be able to continue counseling with her and would need to seek out a counselor she could afford. Amy Van Gunst's tone with my family member quickly changed. In one of the last counseling sessions with Mrs. Van Gunst, she told my family member where to sit, what to say, and told them to leave the room because she didn't feel they were participating enough. When in reality, Amy Van Gunst just wanted to control and manipulate the situation. This was made evident by Amy altering the original report she had submitted to the judge after she found out my family would be discontinuing her services. It is obvious that she uses her relationship with the FOC to manipulate to her financial advantage. I would forewarn anyone in advance from using this practice!!! There are far more requitable counselors out there that don't see their patients as dollar symbols $$$."
