Extended Stay America - Detroit - Sterling Heights

"First off I know this is an Extended Stay and not the Marriott, but .. I do expect TV reception to work reasonably consistently. I guess I can understand iffy reception when weather is bad, but considering the location and the time of the season, that's a lot of time reception is bad. There's nothing wrong with weather today and zero TV again. If I'm paying for premium WiFi connectivity I need expect it to stay up like... "Premium." Instead it drops pretty much all the time if you're streaming something. Front desk is cool though. Rooms are typical Extended Stay rooms."

"Service was okay, just seemed every time we went to the front desk, nobody was there. They could do something about leveling the parking lot better too, not edging an inch wide, etc. Otherwise, our stay was peaceful."

"The reservation was done quickly and professional. However the place was a nightmare. Kids everywhere a guy had 2 pit bulls off leash drugs room smelled of mold mildew. No breakfast just a muffin and a drink. I attracted the wrong attention some women cursed them out i just ignored the ignorant. Nothing was done about the loitering. Urban legend has it that an old guy got beat up here. I had nothing but problems with the condescending patronizing manager who gave the impression he was doing me a favor. Kept circumventing our little contract changing everything. I did the reservation on line still had to pay a hefty deposit and rent that's what they call it. Had to move on a Sunday. Nothing open. No empathy. DO NOT COME TO THIS ONE YOU WILL REGRET IT."

"Worst experience! The room was filthy, dirt piled up in corners & under the sink. poop was stuck to the floor around the toilet, they do not deep clean AT ALL, there was grease splatter all over the fridge & wall behind the stove, I killed 4-5 roaches, a cricket was also in my room chirping all night, everything was beat up in the room, absolutely disgusting, I had terrible anxiety being here. You have to walk so far to the end of the hallway just to throw your trash out & have to take all dirty towels to the counter. I hated that you had to ask for pots, pans, silverware, basically any kitchen things you need, you have to go to front desk to get them, just put them in the room, so inconvenient! No one came to clean my room after a week stay either, then I asked to be added to the clean list, STILL no one came because they didn’t write it down. I wiped the floor with a wet paper towel & it was black! I never walked around bare feet here. No hot breakfast, pool or gym, just a depressing dirty room. I stayed here because I had no choice at the time but soon as I could I got out of there! Police were always circling the parking lot, many weird people staying here as well. NEVER AGAIN!"
