"-LONG BUT WORTH THE READ- My boyfriend and I were so happy and excited to move here as it was our first apartment together as a couple that has been together for 5 years, but unfortunately our excitement was short lived… It started our first night sleeping there. I have bad asthma and a heart condition and after waking up the first night we slept there I could hardly breathe, felt sick, had a horrible headache, and had to undergo multiple breathing treatments at my work for days after. I had carbon monoxide poisoning. After a company came out and told us that we had a severe leak causing the carbon monoxide poisoning and they had to replace everything, we basically received a “sorry, that’s crazy”. I would hope all of the apartments are being properly inspected before each new tenant, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Following this, I was very scared to stay at the apartment and we actually stayed with my parents for a week after to ease my mind that there was no more carbon monoxide leaking. This was only the start of the chaos, because over the next 17 days of living in our apartment, we discovered a disgusting infestation of bugs living in the cabinets, baseboards, and floor of our kitchen. When we brought this to the attention of the apartment complex staff, they almost didn’t believe us despite the pictures/videos/and physical bugs we brought to them. We were even told that “maybe we had brought them with us when we moved in”. I was outraged. There is absolutely no way that was possible considering we pulled back the trim around the floor behind the stove and the bugs were crawling out from everywhere and we were not even living there a full 2 weeks yet. They had sent out an exterminator and after only a day, the bugs were back. We were not going to live in a bug infested apartment that already almost killed me on the first night. We debated terminating our lease but was faced with fees that were not ideal since we just took the time and money to move. Luckily they had agreed to move us to a different building where things seemed better. I was apprehensive to continue the lease considering all that had gone wrong in such a short time, but the staff seemed sure this would be better and we decided to give it a chance. Throughout this time, I will say that Kristina was extremely empathetic and supportive to us and we appreciated her kindness. After a few months living in the new apartment, things were going well. We were settled in and comfortable but kept having an issue with the sound of squirrels running through our ceilings. We reached out to the office staff and let them know our issue and they had stated they would send maintenance out to check. Maintenance came a few days later and covered one of the several holes in the roof that the squirrels were getting in from and that was their “fix”. For the remainder of our stay (6 months), we dealt with squirrels digging, chewing, running, and fighting in our ceilings throughout all hours of the day/night.. ugh. As much as I loved the apartment itself, I couldn’t stay there anymore. With the many problems we had as well as personal issues with the manager, it was best to leave. Our lease ended in January and we have since gotten a house. I would NEVER recommend Lakeside Terraces to anybody and it is so unfortunate that they turned, what was supposed to be a great experience, into something that gave us so much stress and frustration. "I totally love this place both Kristina and Stacy in the office are simply amazing. The amenities are fabulous as well. The complex that I live in is right off Hall Rd and by the mall so everything is right there within reach. Made a good choice to choose my apartment in this complex. If anyone out there is looking for great place to leave and call it home look no further."

"Please do not move here! I’m a good and smart person and I advise people reading the bad reviews to take them seriously. These apartments and staff care bottom line about their money. I’m thankful to be moving out of these apartments soon. They attract bugs, geese, and come with high water bills. The quality of the apartments are not worth the price. And Kristina has been the only one who has provided empathy to me recently when I said I was moving out. The rest of staff only seem to like people who don’t complain. I hope these apartments will be gutted and truly renovated because otherwise I say stay away and pay attention to the bad reviews. They are the truth. The renovation they say they do is just kitchen counters and cabinets. The rest of apartments are extremely old and outdated. Please do better Beztak and Lakeside Terrace. And thank you Kristina for your recent kindness."

"I’ve been a resident for approximately four years, and I’ve been very pleased with my time at Lakeside Terrace. I’ve had a couple small issues that Kristina helped to resolve quickly and professionally. The complex is very well managed, and I would recommend Lakeside Terrace to anyone looking for a safe, well-maintained, and professionally managed place to live. I feel that Kristina and the staff at Lakeside Terrace really care about the tenants and their experiences while living here. I find that approach to business refreshingly old school."
