"The room was dirty. I found chip crumbs in the corners, candy wrappers stuffed in the couch. My towels were all threadbare and stained ones, one of my pillows had a blood stain on it. The kitchen faucet leaked, the faucet in the bathtub leaked so bad that when I was trying to take a shower, half the water was still coming out of the tub faucet and filling the bathtub, so drain was slow as well. The outside of the freezer door had some sticky grossness all over it that came off when I tried to wipe it off. The whole building I was in smelled like weed, ALL THE TIME. Drug deals were happening in the parking lot on a daily and nightly basis. There were several parties there on several nights. The only time the staff was nice was when they were behind the front desk, otherwise I had one employee let a door shut on my face, (I think she was a housekeeping supervisor) I saw an animal tail on a window ledge right by the front door one morning. All these things just added up. My experience with Detroit overall was not that great and the hotel which should have been my refuge, just added to my disappointment and discomfort."
"Didn't have a good experience here. Checked in late. Elevators weren't working at all. Key card worked at the main entrance only. Waited at the main desk almost 10 min for some one to come and to get checked in. When complained through email feedback, I got connected to the area manager. Not taking name here. And I was told that I will get points credited to my account. It's over a month now and that never came through. Hope they improve service. Didn't expect it from Marriott brand."
"*DO NOT BOOK HERE* I'm going to give my honest opinion but please be advised that I am not on here for clout, attention or anything above, I am just sharing my honest opinion during my visit. Let me just start off by saying after carefully reading and review all the current comments and concerns that everyone else had during there experience I just wanted say everything is completely true. 1.When I walked to my room after checking in and seeing the amount of filth it just repeats in my head, like honest paying so much for a hotel room and seeing and spacious it was I would've expected the employees would at least put some effort into the rooms but it seems like everyone doesn't care. 2. They are completely short staff so don't expect anything from them if you need anything. During my experience I have only seen 1-3 people on the entire property cleaning all the rooms at once, when I was talking to one of them they said to me they couldn't give me any towels because they are out of stock and only have of what they were given. Somedays they'll have no Towels for the rooms. 3. Front desk clerks or hotel receptionists have the worst customer service in the world they do not comprehend very well, there problem solving skills is terrible, so don't expect your issues or concerns will be resolved. also if your not a Marriott member your most definitely going to be mistreated. 4. One night as I was coming back to the hotel trying to find a parking spot I notice some ones car window was busted and the doors were tampered with I was so shocked and parked my car somewhere else and hope to god that the same issue doesn't happened to me. 5. After being unsatisfied for with my stay with this place I decided to let the property manager about my issues and concerns it took her 2-3 weeks to finally come up with a solution and compensate me for the inconvenience, honestly this is ridiculous and I will never spend my money in any Marriott. I DO NOT RECCOMEND ANY TRAVELERS TO ATTEND THIS HOTEL IF YOUR ON A STRICT BUDGET BECAUSE YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY THE THINGS YOU NEED, KNOWING YOU WOULD EXPECT THE HOTEL WOULD PROVIDE IT FOR YOU."
"I stayed right before our room was overhauled, so I didn't get to see the new room design, but our room was decently clean other than maybe the kitchenette (although the fridge and freezer were completely clean). Bathroom was nice, hallways were nice, staff was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast had a small selection but it was very good."

The hotel's strategic location, conveniently close to the border and within proximity to shopping and dining establishments, added to the overall convenience and appeal of our stay.
