"This place was amazing but the fact that pronouns needed be shared felt very strange and it made me feel extremely unseen and inhuman."
"The folks at CWHC do a great job. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. I felt comfortable coming here for my routine gyno, pap & breast exam. The person who helped me (Mary) explained the process in detail and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. The process went a lot more smoothly than I had anticipated and a lot of my anxiety was relieved by Mary's patient and comforting care. As far as payment goes, they offer a sliding scale which made this an affordable option for me. You can tell the people who work here care a lot about the people who walk in the door and want everyone to feel comfortable and accepted. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs affordable care."
"Failed to call in a prescription when she assured me she would. So when I went to the pharmacy they didn’t know why I was there. When I called back I got transferred to an extension with voicemail. I had to physically walk back to the clinic to get my prescription “called in” since there was no nurse practitioner there to write it for me and they weren’t picking up the phone. I asked her why she didn’t call it in and she acted like she didn’t know what I was talking about! So rude and you can’t even speak with anyone about how you’re being treated they only have evaluations at the end of the year when they apply for funding. I’ve been going there for years and have always had positive experiences (Toni and Julie are really nice) so today’s experience was really shocking and jarring. When she asked me if a trainee can do the examination she nodded her head up and down like saying “No” was not an option. When she walked in the room she practically screamed at me to put my mask on. I was drinking my tea (a nice amenity )alone in the room. I would have put my mask back on but she didn’t give me a chance to do so without being rude. Why do people who dislike other human beings work in healthcare?! Then she acts like I didn’t tell her to phone in my prescription to the target across the street. Really?!"
"Best clinic in Chicago for women. Friendly people and staff. Only issue is parking but there is some nearby. I feel so safe there as a woman. When I get my exams. TMI but I feel no shame getting naked. My gyno told me the first time not to feel shame it's my body. It was so empowering. I'm a Social worker and these people are trained on how to be sensitive to anyone who comes in their office. The best place. And I don't have insurance so they offer payment plans. I wish there were more clinics like this."
"I was referred to this facility by the hospital I delivered at because I needed physical therapy but was having issues with my insurance. I had to wait for an entire month for an appointment. They were very accommodating when it came to scheduling my appointment, however, failed to provide me with insight on how to gain access to the facility since my appointment was after hours. I showed up for my appointment the office was closed, there were no postings for after hour contact, I called the office and there was no option that allowed me to contact anyone because the office was closed. So, I missed my appointment. I did leave a voicemail which led them to call me back the following day to inform me that there was a specific door that I was supposed to utilize that had a buzzer to gain access. Then referred me to another facility because they didn’t have any appointments available for over another month. No real apology nor any kind of accommodations for making me miss my appointment, that I waited a month for that was ultimately keeping me from returning to work. Absolutely no empathy nor accountability. Horrible."
