"We went to Le Sud for Valentine’s Day and had a really great experience. Our server, Matthew, was wearing a red checkered shirt for the occasion, which I got a kick out of. He was super personable and knowledgeable about the menu. We sat upstairs and the ambiance was really pleasant. The food was so delicious! I definitely want to try more dishes on the menu."
"Stopped in for happy hour on Tuesday, the “discounted” drinks still cost a minimum of $9 each. Ordered the beef tenderloin skewer, the beef tasted old and TOUGH. Honestly was just bad and we didn’t finish it. I asked our server if this was truly beef tenderloin and he replied yeah, it was the happy hour skewer, as if I should expect a lesser product because it was off the happy hour. Didn’t offer us a discount or substitution or anything. Paid our bill and left, which is a shame because we were really looking forward to trying out this well reviewed place! Spent $60 and was very disappointed. Won’t be back. Fries were ok."
"Dined here with a group of friends for Chicago’s restaurant week. The menu was small but diverse with a decent amount of vegetarian options and the flexibility to remove any ingredients if needed. The food was delicious and was very satisfying. The chicken tagine had some of the juiciest chicken I’ve had in a while."
"Overall we did not have a very good dinner experience. The food was ok, overpriced for what it was, very long wait times, and lacking service. We waited 1.5 hours to get our main food, 45 min for our appetizers, all the while mostly being ignored by our waiter. The entire time the long wait was never acknowledged by our servers and we saw our server very rarely, so we couldn’t even order more drinks as we waited. He took our two drinks off the bill at the very end without any prompting, which is appreciated, though what I would prefer is better service *during the experience* and at the very least an acknowledgement of the poor wait times. Instead we sat there waiting for food, not knowing how much longer it was going to be, contemplating ordering another glass of wine if the wait was going to be much longer, but also not seeing our waiter the whole time. Then the food was just ok. Prices are WAY too high for what it is. Croquettes are good, but nothing special about them to justify the price in my opinion. $18 grilled halloumi was very small, quite simple, and a little bland. It was recommended by our waiter. My lamb bolognese linguine dish was fine. It was flavorful, but the noodles were a little over cooked and completely not worth $26, even for the higher end dining experience this establishment is going for and comparing to similar establishments in the area. The mussels were the standout dish and I would recommend those. The ambiance is the best part, with a warm and inviting old European vibe going on. Maybe we’ll be back to try some of the other items, but most likely not for a full sit down experience again."
"Its our second time in that restaurant, and we loved it both times. The ambiance is literally like you are in further France neighborhood, the staff is friendly and attentive. Food is exceptional, blend of flavors in dishes is very well balanced and unique. They carry big selection of french wines and cordials and their mixed drinks are outstanding, I just love that place, coming again for sure. Everything was just perfect, I got the mussels and the elderflower gin cocktail, it was one time."
