Comfort Inn 622 Allegan Street, Plainwell, MI 49080

"i worked for comfort inn at this location for a month before the owner fired all houekeepers just to move his family into the hotel so he could pay people less. this company is one of the most dysfunctional places ive ever worked. when i started my pay was messed up because the manager refused to put me on pay roll untill almost 3 weeks later. i wouldn't recommend staying here anyways. the irs will be called for not putting me on payroll. i was told the reason i was fired was because they couldn’t afford to pay me and that simply wasn’t the case. they where just firing all housekeepers to bring in the owners family. when i tried to talk to the owner while working here, the manager laura called me and yelled at me for 15 minutes on my day off. they say you can get raises but they refuse to give them out to people who deserve them. they refuse to let people use their payed time off. most of the staff is great but the owner and manager are just not. they make the housekeeping have used drug needles on their carts and won’t let them dispose of them properly so they just walk around with a red box of used needles for months. they also use stained bed sheets and if you can’t get rid of the stain out of sight, they flip the sheets around so they aren’t seen. they say payday is friday but they took them untill wednesday to get checks out i wish i could give a lower rating then a 1 star"

"I've stayed here, and had a wedding reception here. They use stained sheets in the rooms, which they hide towards the corners and foot of the bed. Pet hair and smells. Employees can wait weeks to get a paycheck, and the construction is as chincy as it gets, very noisy. The recent face-lift is easy to see through in the poorly maintained pool and unavailable hot tub area. Smoke in the halls, esp at night. Great location for a real hospitality business. It's just an average 2 star joint."

"The room could have been a little cleaner. The desk was not clean, leftover food on the carpet, hair on the floor in the bathroom but overall nice rooms. The front desk help was very nice. The hotel was nice for the most part. Breakfast was ok, given that it is not a restaurant. Overall I do recommend this location."

"Wow, what a great hotel!(the pictures on website are not updated) The decor is stunning! We stayed in the king suit and it was amazing! The shower had a glass wall and there were double sinks which was an unexpected upgrade. The staff is fabulous. The breakfast was good and best of all everything was extremely clean!! I highly recommend staying here! I know we will be back!"
