"Super clean, easy check in/out. Very modern interiors and a solid continental breakfast. Everything in the rooms has been revamped fairly recently. The showers have a new epoxy coating and there’s no carpet anywhere. Some extra tables would be nice near the beds and/or fridge and microwave but there’s enough space to drop your stuff. Went smoothly and was very pleasant. The outside doesn’t match the inside so don’t judge the lobby or your room by curb appeal."

"Very nicely appointed rooms, albeit small. Impeccably clean. The front building is close to the road, but we never heard traffic over the AC unit. One point off for the tiny shower and especially the too low shower head."

"There were some great things about this stay, and two not great things for me in particular. The property is quiet and cute, with a nice pool and deck and a fire ring. The owner/manager is very responsive, and I like that he reached out a few hours before our arrival to give us a room key code so we felt comfortable arriving anytime. A typical continental breakfast was available. The bathroom was small, but I didn't mind. The rooms were clean...so clean in fact that it was problematic. When we went to our room, we were overwhelmed by the smell of cleaning agents. We opened all the windows and left for a few hours. After we came back it took a few more hours to air out, six hours total. (The next day I walked past another room that was being cleaned and was again surprised at the strength of the chemical smell.) Once the clean smell had neutralized, I noticed the detergent smell of the bedsheets. There are two detergents I know of that I'm allergic to. The detergent fragrance on the sheets had me so concerned that I slept on top of the bedspread (which wasn't heavily scented) with clothing covering everything but my head. I also used the beach towel that I brought, instead of their towels. We were there for two nights. I got a contact dermatitis rash on a patch of my face, probably from the pillow. Obviously, I appreciate that the linens were laundered, but I've never had this issue at another motel/hotel. It's a relatively easy fix to use unscented laundry detergent, though it takes several times through the wash to get scented detergent out of fabric. I know most people don't have a reaction to laundry detergent fragrance, but if I'd seen a review with this info, I would have chosen other lodging."

"Rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. The owners were friendly and helpful. We had a cross country meet in Benzonia so this was perfect: 7 minute drive instead of 3 hours from home. I think it was 10-15 minutes to Frankfurt so we enjoyed walking around town. The price was less than pretty much everything else we checked. I didn’t get a chance to use the pool but it was heated and clean. Looked like you could have a fire since there was a fire pit and chopped wood. We would definitely stay here again!"

"This is a great place to stay! The room was clean and very simply and cutely decorated. The downtown area was very cute and we ate at two of the recommended places (they were delicious!) Location is very close to Sleeping Bear Dunes, an incredible National Lakeshore. We have already talked about staying here again."
