"we were up with a jeep group to hit the trails when the first night there we found out 4 of the 6 cabins we rented had bed bugs.. 7 of us got ate up 1 so bad she had to go to hospital from a severe reaction. when donna was told she said ohh not again.. she didnt seem to care or offer any solution thank god we were able to get cabins next door after spending the day at the laundry facility.. never once offered to pay for the laundry or help with the inconvenience of everything. food wasted and stuff thrown in dumpster due to the bugs.. very poor business pratice. we will never be back and the place should be torn down.. no way any of the cabins would even pass a building code inspection.. if u have kids stay away steps alone might hurt someone not being secured to building properly"

"I usually stay at Birch Tree and never had any issues. This last time, I was ate up by bed bugs. We looked and 5 of the 6 bed in cabin 7, were infested with Bed Bugs.. that's right, BED BUGS!!! I had such an allergic reaction. I will NEVER stay there again!!! Donna is great but cabins were NOT!!"

"I really don't know how to rate this one. Part of me wants to rate it 5 stars and part of me wants to rate it 1 star. The cabins are not clean. Every bed had hair on it and stains. Lots of it. Super gross. I even saw blood stains on one of the blankets. Like it has never been washed. The refrigerator even had human hair in it. I don't understand. Other than the fact that it was gross, somehow the experience was terrific!! I don't know how that is possible. But Donna is one of a kind and she cracks me up. She is also extremely helpful and trusting. All around great person. The cabins are located right on the lake and it is gorgeous every morning. She has a Bait shop right there and has other amenities. She was helpful with directions and guiding us to what we were looking for. She also allows pets which was a huge bonus. Somehow this place grew on me and by the end of my stay I didn't want to leave. I think I will even come back some time. I still haven't fully made my mind up about that. If it were a cleaner experience (especially with the beds and blankets) I would have zero hesitation and I would go back every year. If you are only looking for a place to crash I wouldn't recommend this place, but if you have an open mind and are looking for a good memory and good feeling then I would definitely go here. Just bring your own blankets and pillows."
