"Inept customer service! Called 3 days in a row just to get proof of insurance for my car insurance company. I do this every 6 months, usually no problem until now! Only one person actually put forth the effort. The first time I called the woman didn't even request the letter which now has to be sent to your address and takes 7-10business days. Wasn't told that on the first call. I found this out in the second call about the timing and she didn't look to see of the request was made. Third call, the guy told me the request wasn't made and he couldn't because my account was open (more than likely by the first woman who clearly doesn't know what she is doing). He had to request to close it from another department. I called again this morning just to get told by this woman that they don't accept these kinds of requests...WHAT? This is my insurance company and I can't request proof? She then asks me "what exactly do you need so I can ask another coworker'. MY GOODNESS! So she comes back to the phone to say NOBODY has responded to the last request. Next open enrollment, I'm changing insurance companies."
"Navigating their websiteS (plural because why not make things needlessly and exceedingly confusing for their clientele?) is an absolute nightmare. Wound up locked out of my own account. Called the Help Desk only to receive an automated prompt telling me to leave a message and that they would "call me back". Still haven't heard from anyone. Ridiculous. Zero effort put into customer care, efficiency, or ease of use. If I could have rated zero stars I would have. Private insurance like this is a racket. Even with a Gold Plan this is how they deal with their customer base. This is why we need Medicare for All."
"I'd give them zero stars if I could. Total health care is the worst insurance that I have ever had! I set up auto pay on the total health care website, then when the payment posts on the 2nd or 3rd of the month, they cancel your insurance. But you don't know you have been cancelled until you go to the doctor or pharmacy and are denied coverage. Bought this on the marketplace, will definately pick another insurance company next year."
"So twice now I have tried to get a prescription filled and my pharmacy says it can’t be filled because the insurance company is claiming I haven’t paid my premium. Except both times I had, and I have proof the funds cleared my account. The first time I was able to call during business hours and get it fixed. This time it’s after hours and there is no one to talk to and I have to pay out of pocket for a prescription because they screwed up. If a company can’t figure out how to process its payments it shouldn’t be in business."
"My wife signed up for total health care through the affordable care act in 2013.At that time it took total health care 3 months to send a bill. I expected some glitches since it was the first time that affordable care went into effect and volumes where higher than expected. My wife again signed up for total health care in November of 2014 at that time I readjusted the income level. It took 4 months for total health care to send a bill through the mail. It also took that long to get the correct amount 2 calls to affordable care and probably 4 to 5 calls to total health care to get everything corrected. In the process total health care dropped the primary physician even though no change was requested. Some time last year total health care switched Rx providers to envision . In may a script my wife has been getting filled for several years got rejected . A call to envision indicated that the doctor's office required authorization yearly.I asked them to fax the form to the doctor's office. When I called the doctor's office they indicated they had not received . I asked them to please check again they did find found form with no name on it so they had no idea which patient it was for. I asked them to please have doctor fill out form and fax back to envision this was done on 5/6/15. when I called our pharmacy on 5/ 26 to find out if drug was being covered they told me it got rejected . Another call to envision I talked to Evelyn (who was very nice and cooperative) she indicated the form had not been faxed she was kind enough to provide me a web site to print form so I could take it to doctor's office. I did this on 5/27 only to find out that the form was indeed faxed by the doctor's office which was shown to me in my wife's file with the correct fax number. I again requested that they re fax. to envision . Maybe you should rename your company total incompetent health care ."
