"Kelly has been my agent for several years. He is very knowledgable, responsive and the staff at the office are fantastic."
"This place is awful. The rates are better than many (but not all) competitors, but the customer service from this agency is atrocious. First off, the actual Agent, Kelly Obenauf, is all but absent. Expect to deal exclusively with secretaries. If you ask to speak with Kelly specifically, expect him to not be in and take days to call back, if he calls back at all. Every interaction I had with the agency (which were all about me giving them money to purchase or renew policy!) required me to follow-up multiple times. I finally demanded to speak to Kelly and after me calling back several times to reach him, I was able to get him on the phone and shared with him the awful experience I had with his agency. He thanked me and assured me that he'd make sure I didn't have issues in the future. My next renewal (which is yearly on both home and auto), same story. They called (first call from them) to tell me my policy was scheduled to be cancelled for non-payment. I had not received a bill and the website showed $0 due (I had been checking as I knew my policy was coming due). They blamed this on a system change (which was one of the excuses they had used a year before to explain them being a mess). I asked to speak to Kelly and was told he was out-of-office until next week (surprise!). I told her I think it is time to cancel my policy and she couldn't have cared less. I attempted to get a quote from another Farm Bureau agency and was told that Farm Bureau considers this a "transfer" and that this agency would need to approve it - which the secretaries are not empowered to do, so I'd have to wait until Kelly returned (from wherever he spends his time) to check-in on his secretary-run business and decide if he'd allow me to be a Farm Bureau customer elsewhere. No thanks. Shame - the other location I called had two Agents (not an absentee Agent and a fleet of secretaries) - one of which answered the phone when I called! You'd think giving an insurance agency money once or twice a year to renew an existing policy would be as easy as it gets - it certainly has been for me everywhere but here. No issues with Farm Bureau, but call a different Agency for your quote!!"
