"My last vet sold his business. I had been going there for years. My dog Bella pooped a puddle of blood, I called to see if I could bring Bella in right away and was told I had to schedule an appt. The recommendation was to take her to an emergency hospital. I called Dr. Schwartz's office. He was able to see her that day. I was grateful that Dr. Schwartz was able to diagnose and give Bella medicine that afternoon. Since that day, Dr. Schwartz has become Bella and Jay's Veternarian. Dr. Schwartz and the staff at Downtown Veterinarian Clinic are outstanding. I highly recommend this clinic."
"I do not recommend Downtown Birmingham Veterinary Clinic PC It's a total rip off! I went there a week ago cause my Puppy was itching. The Female Doctor offered me 2 different options of shots. I chose the "better" and more expensive one cause it was supposed to keep her free from itching for 2-3 Months. That's what she said. The Bill was $ 163,00. Not even a week later she started itching again. So I called in and they told me to bring her in again. Then Dr. Schwartz looked in her ears and skin (which was done already a week ago form the Female Doctor) and told me that the shots should keep her itch free for only 1 month, not for 2-3 months. When I explained that the Female Doctor told me that, he snapped at me! He told me the only thing he can do is give me some pills. Then he charged me for the same issue in 1 week another $ 106,00. He could have just send me a receipt for the pills. But they want to charge every time for an exam. Not going back there ever again!"
"Love Dr. Schwartz and his staff. He's been caring for my dogs for 25 years or more. I drive past a few veterinary offices and could easily find one closer, but I choose Dr. Schwartz and staff. Excellent practice!!"
"I've been bringing my dogs here for 25 years or more and Dr. Schwartz and his staff have been amazing people to work with. My dogs have always loved coming here but that could be because of the cats that live here."
"I have been a patient of Dr. Schwartz for over 5 years. I recently took my dog for his yearly teeth cleaning. Upon picking him up I slipped on the front steps and fell down them. My dog flew out of my arms into the bushes. I gathered him up and crawled up the steps on my knees back to the front door. When I opened it I yelled that I needed help. The receptionist and Dr Schwartz came out of the back. I was very shaken and asked the dr to be sure my dog was ok since he had been thrown out of my arms and into the bushes. I sat for a few minutes and gained my composure. They offered me to go out their back door instead of back down the front steps. Every other time my dog has had a procedure I get a phone call the next morning checking on his condition. No call came asking about him or me. As the day went on I got madder that they had not bothered to call and check on my dog and me. I called the office at 4 pm to see if I could cancel my insurance that I paid the day before for the upcoming year and was told it was too late they had already submitted it. When I asked why they hadn't called I was told they were "just to busy to call but had planned on doing it". (The office would be closing soon for the day) when I told the receptionist this was unacceptable and I was going to call my credit card company since I was considering leaving the practice. I was put on hold for over 5 minutes. When she came back on the line I was told they would send me a check. The next day I called to ask to have my dogs records transferred to another vet and explained that I was disappointed with their lack of compassion not only for me but for my dog and that was why I was leaving the practice. The next day I received a check from them in an envelope with no note. I have left this practice and as stated am very l disappointed by the lack of compassion and concern I and my dog received with this incident. In the meantime I have a huge bruise and lump on my back as well as a very stiff neck. I do not feel comfortable having my dog treated by a practice that would handle a situation like this so poorly. I would not recommend this practice to anyone!"
