"I went to a walkin in clinic in Hastings Michigan for a sore throat and congestion and was seen by a nurse who works for Spectrum health for around 5 minutes. She did the usual check the ears, check the throat and listen to the lungs. Told me to go home and continue to rest and drink fluids. I received a bill from Spectrum Health,. I called Spectrum Health and asked them if I would be receiving any other bills from them or any other Medical Group. I was told no, that was the only Bill I would receive. She told me there would be no other bills from Spectrum Health and no other bills from any other Medical Group. She said that's the only Bill I will receive from anyone. Two weeks later I received a bill from ECS Western Michigan PC. I again called Spectrum Health and asked them why I received this bill since I was told I wouldn't receive a bill from any other group. The person on the phone told me that I received the bill because the health provider was probably a contract worker for ECS. I was told that if the health provider had been an employee of Spectrum Health I would have not received a bill from ECS Western Michigan. I looked the health provider up on LinkedIn and found out that she worked for Spectrum Health. I then called Spectrum Health again and they changed their story to saying the reason I received the bill from ECS Western Michigan had nothing to do with who the health provider worked for, it was because ECS Western Michigan handles billing for emergency rooms and Urgent Care. There was no doctor, the only health provider that saw me was the nurse practitioner that spent about 5 minutes with me. Something doesn't seem right"
"Went to urgent care in Hastings, got charged $97 after my insurance. Just got a bill on top of that forom ECS western MI for $421 for "medical provider service". I had pink eye in both eyes and the PA I saw told me to get over the counter eye drops which made it worse. I had to go to my primary care the following day. This person was in the room with me for less than 5 minutes and did not give me care, didn't swab or even look in my eyes."
"I would give 0 stars if I could. I go in to the ER get billed for that. Then received a second bill from this place. For the visit I already paid for. This company can take me to court I am not paying. This is surprise billing. I paid the hospital already."
"After 3 months still not crediting insurance payments and 2 direct payments. Keeps sending a bill for full amount. No contact ability on website to discuss or even check detailed billing information."
"I wish I could give 0 stars. Their billing department is a nightmare and lies to you. They incorrectly coded a bill for my daughter who had to go to the emergency room (her doctor told me to bring her there). The hospital coded the bill correctly, so my insurance paid the hospital. However, this company improperly coded the bill and used a code that said it was not an emergency. After 8 MONTHS of asking them to code it correctly, I finally disputed it through my insurance company and they paid. They could have been paid quickly by coding the bill correctly, but they're lazy. I talked to them several times, and their employees agreed that it should be changed, but the lady in charge of changing it never did her job at completing this simple task. There's a reason why their rating is so horribly low. They should be banned from providing services until they can get competent people to do the job."
