"Dr. Afman was my sons ENT and now my daughters ENT also.. I have been very pleased with his care provided to both of my children. During an in office visit with my son at just a few months old Dr. Afman watched as I was feeding him a bottle, asked if my son had these symptoms during each feed (he did), immediately ordered a swallow study and we found he had dysphasia. We weren’t even in the office for feeding/swallowing difficulties so for him to go above and beyond with his care, notice an issue that I didn’t even realize was an issue and then take proper measures afterwards I was extremely pleased. My son eventually needed tubes put in both ears and the care, surgery and bedside manner was phenomenal. When my youngest was born and began with ear issues I knew right away I wanted her to see Dr. Afman as my previous experience was great.. And again, he was phenomenal with her and her surgery for tubes also. Cannot recommend Dr. Afman enough.. His care, bedside manner, Knowledge, all of it is outstanding."

"We flew from Texas to Michigan to consult with Dr. Afman after hearing of my friend’s daughter’s wonderfully successful recovery from the same complicated ear drum damage that my son suffers from. Dr. Afman was professional, informative and caring. He thoroughly explained the procedure he recommends and addressed my son’s issues when emerging from anesthesia. Sadly, we live too far away for Dr. Afman to perform the procedure, but greatly value his recommendation!"

"Our 3 year old daughter has speech delays. Her speech therapist wanted us to make sure her hearing wasn't impaired and that her tonsils weren't impacting the way she produces sound. We made an appointment with Dr. Afman because he was highly recommended to us. I was very disappointed in our visit. Dr. Afman was impatient with my daughter and came off as annoyed and irritated. Although she passed her hearing test and her tonsils are average in size and surgery wasn't necessary, he made a few comments that were hurtful. He told us that our daughter is very immature and just needs to be around people her own age so she can hear how she is supposed to sound and will eventually drop the "baby talk." Really, doctor?! Is it really just that easy?! His lack of understanding childhood speech and language development and disorders is appalling. To assume my child's problems with sound deletions and errors are just "baby talk" is ridiculous. She has been in therapy for over a year! Dr. Afman is dismissive and ignorant. A little empathy would have been appreciated. We will not see him again."
