"I am not one to write reviews, but I am unbelievably upset with Spectrum Health Medical Genetic and would NOT recommend this office to anyone. I was there for an office visit with my son and was told that they would only recommend the genetic testing if it was free because it was a minimal "risk" category for what we were being seen for. They informed me that they would call me back in a week after running my insurance to let me know if there would be a charge before I proceeded with testing. I will state again that this is not even a test we wanted and or needed. The office called back all excited that they testing is free and so they would love for us to proceed because it was no cost to us. We agreed ONLY because they said the testing was no cost to us. Well now here we are 3 months later and I have a bill for $380 that I am responsible for. I immediately called the office and they lady remembered speaking with me and assured me that she would make the call to take care of it because she remembers calling me and telling me herself that the test was free and that was the ONLY reason we did the test. Fast-forward to a week later she calls me to tell me that we unfortunately are responsible for this test and her telling me that it was FREE was actually an estimate. Her demeanor changed and so did her story. I have never been more upset in my life. I never even wanted this test as it was not needed and now here I am stuck paying a bill that their employee told me was FREE!"

"How much do hospitals charge for the simplest visit? Hundreds of dollars, literally. Today some cheapskate from the genetics department ordered almost $300 worth of food and tipped $5 on Grub Hub. The restaurant was almost ten miles away from Spectrum, so, it was over twenty miles round trip. Gas is currently $2.74 a gallon. You have to pay to park at this hospital. So, I had to pay $2 to deliver this large catering order. I texted the individual four times and they did not respond. They really thought I was going to park two levels down and make four trips between my car and their office. I literally had to be rude to the receptionist to get a cart. So, in the future if you order something again, please answer your phone. It’s important to know where I should park and where I’m going. Secondly, make sure you pay for the parking. It’s not my job to pay to park to deliver your food. And third, tip 20%. If you want to be cheap and save on money then go and pick the food up yourself.
