The Finnish American Heritage Center, located at 435 Quincy Street in Hancock, Michigan, is a cultural institution dedicated to preserving and promoting Finnish-American identity and history. Established in 1990, the center is home to North America's most renowned archive and collections, as well as the Finnish American Folk School.
The Heritage Center serves as a community focal point and national center, offering a variety of cultural events, exhibits, lectures, plays, musical programs, and community events throughout the year. The beautiful Martha Wiljanen Community Hall is also available for public rental.
Originally founded by Finnish immigrants who sought to preserve their heritage in North America, the center continues to uphold this mission under the Finlandia Foundation National. Alongside the Finnish American Reporter, the Finnish American Folk School, North Wind Books, and the Finlandia Gallery, the Heritage Center strives to promote and preserve the culture and heritage of Finnish America for future generations.

Reviews
"This organization helps visitors discover ways Finnish-American Copper County immigrants learn about the Keweenaw Peninsula's distinct culture."
"We attended a memorial for my sister in law at this location. Very nice building clean and set up well for this kind of event. The memorial picture display was in a well lit bright entry area with lots of room for people coming in to pay respects. There was a caterer who provided good assortment of tasty luncheon and desserts."
"Great place to learn about the contributions of Finnish Americans to the region and nation, as well as view artwork and art installations by Finnish/Finnish American artists. The staff was friendly, the parking was ample and convenient, and the exhibits were interesting. Plus, if you need the Keweenaw NHP passport stamp, you can get it here."
"My kids practically grew up in this building. Dances, movies, Finnish language classes, art exhibits...It seems like every week there is something to do here."
"The archives here are full to the brim with a wide variety of historical artifacts telling the story of the Finnish people here in America. The large hall above plays host to many community events and has been tastefully restored from an old church. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help out or learn new things as they complete their research."
