Reviews of Allergy & Asthma Associates of MI, P.C
"My experience with Dr. Sunjay Modi at this allergist's office was exceptional. The warm and welcoming atmosphere immediately put me at ease. Dr. Sunjay attentively listened to my concerns, discussed my allergy history thoroughly, and kept me informed every step of the way. His genuine commitment to my well-being and dedication to finding solutions for my allergies left a lasting impression. I highly recommend this clinic."
"12.21.23 Let me add more. How many patients have been scammed saying they owe $534 for a bill that was paid and they turn it over to collections. Turns out one of the office managers has been scamming patients so she can fund a criminal from a local gym. I have turned over the evidence to the local news stations for a story. Please come forward if you are a patient who has been scammed by this office. Thank you. Going here for 20 plus years. Used to love them but for over a year told every injector I developed horrific allergic reactions and NOT one care from any dr. They changed $650 to make up the bottles for injections and over billed my insurance. Now they are double dipping. Beyond disappointed. Will be looking for a new allergy team who cares."
"ROYAL OAK LOCATION…My son has been a patient of this practice for a few years now but we’re not returning. The blonde woman at the front desk is the main reason why we’re leaving this practice. She is very dismissive and unhelpful. If you need anything extra done outside of your visit be prepared to deal with her unprofessional and difficult attitude. Caring for your patients, helping them and speaking to them in a polite manner is a part of this job. She acts as if she’s being inconvenienced at all times. As far as the providers go, When my son was a baby I brought him in and they missed his allergies they told me he had no allergies. It wasn’t until I came back a second time did they find out he had multiple allergies after suffering for a year. That should have been my first sign to stay away. The providers have never really offered any other solutions/recommendations outside of just “avoid these foods and refill his epipen” his pediatrician could do that. In fact, I’ve had to have his pediatrician refill his Epi pen before because it was easier than dealing with that specific receptionist. I’ve managed a medical office for 8 years I understand how an office should be run. The doctors and I would never accept any of our staff treating patients this way. I’ve had two times now where I’ve had to refill my sons Epi pen on my own (once by his pediatrician and once by a physician friend of ours) because of this useless practice. There are plenty of other allergists in the area that are more caring and helpful. You and your children deserve better as patients."
"Royal oak location: So, I have to say this upfront: I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. If you go there, be ready for your time to be wasted, mostly because of one woman (the receptionist) at the front desk who doesn't seem to know what she's doing. I first talked to her on the phone a couple of weeks before my appointment. Right from the start, she was pretty rude. When I told her I had a referral, she said it wasn't enough. But when I asked how I could fix it, she was just plain mean. I told her I'd call somewhere else, and then all of a sudden she wanted to help. She said she talked to my doctor and that everything was sorted out. She confirmed that they accept my United Healthcare insurance and made an appointment for me to get an allergy test in two weeks. I did everything they asked me to, like not taking my allergy medicine for three days before the test. But when I got there and started filling out the forms, she said they don't accept my insurance without a referral – which she told me over the phone was all handled. It was weird because she was rude on the phone, and here she was being rude again. I told her the woman on the phone was rude, and she said it was her. Then, they checked my insurance - something they should've done before making the appointment - and said I needed a global referral from my doctor. I had to take time off work for this. So, my advice is to find another place where you won't waste your time and a day's work. I almost feel like the receptionist didn't like me when I first called the office, so she acted like my insurance would go through and knew that it would cause me issues later when I came. No one can prove this of course, but when you think about it... It makes sense. I can't tell you anything about the doctors because I never got to see one. But I can tell you that the woman at the front desk is not nice at all. I wish I had read other reviews before going there because a lot of people have said the same thing about her."
"Allergy and Asthma Associates provides stellar maintenance and care for patients with asthma. Couldn't be happier with Dr. Tawila and his staff, who make a point of answering all questions about the condition or treatment. They explain viable lifestyle or home changes, like different cleaning methods, to continue long-term good lung health. Their appointment times can be tricky for a new patient, but booking out well in advance has never been a problem. Staff is receptive and excellent about reaching out with appointment reminders, filling prescriptions, and providing updates. I've never had issues with Rx refills at the pharmacy and my charts are up-to-date for my main doctor. Can't ask for better service than that! My only complaint is location: entering and exiting the parking lot off 13 Mile is extremely difficult at peak hours. Parking behind the building is better. I wish they were in a more accessible location in the same area or in Woodward Corners. Use the light and don't trust drivers are patient coming westbound; they aren't."
