"it was the best part of my child hood"
"I give it two stars because it's still probably better than the other public schools around the area. I graduated in 2007, having gone to Milan Schools for all of my K-12 curriculum. I cannot say I enjoyed it, though that's commonplace for many people who went to highschool. I witnessed an immense amount of favoritism from teachers towards athletes. I saw teachers be rude to students who didn't really fit social norms but still should have been respected as individuals. I kid you not, I remember having at least one ten minute lecture a semester from several teachers about how underpaid they are, and honestly, this did not make me feel sympathetic as I sat there, waiting to be taught the actual lesson. I remember joining clubs and then not getting notified when meetings were due to favoritism and mean kids--drama club especially had, and may still have some issues regarding this subject. Lots of silly, petty melodrama, surrounding who should be allowed to go where. I wouldn't expect more from most schools, but don't come running here thinking the place is perfection because it is a, "School of Choice." Of all my classes, I personally valued AP English the most. I had one issue at the end in some type of class where we focused on life goals--there were these interviews at the end of senior year we had to do, and because my interviewer was some child's mother who did not like me, she decided to give me a D-, and this was the actual grade I received, despite the entire semester's hard work and dedication to the project and the fact that my mother complained afterward. Pretty silly, lots of silly things happened that never should have happened in the hands of logical, balanced people."
