"We've got trouble in this town. Something is threatening the modesty of sleepy Portage. The experience at Lake Burger Tavern is so enjoyable it boarders the obscene. I was once like you, curious. Now I cannot unknow the subtle flavors possible in a burger, nor can I forget what excellent service actually looks like. I implore you, do not peek behind that curtain. Enjoy your humble establishments and don't dream of what might be."

"This restaurant has the rudest staff. I am a graduate student at a local college, and make extra money from door dashing. I went in this past Friday night to pick up an order for one of your customers. I waited over 30 minutes from the time the customer placed the order from the time the order was ready. After waiting 20-25 minutes, I asked the staff for an ETA, which is what I am supposed to do as protocol so that I can advise the customer of any delays. A young girl with long dark hair barked at me, "Our customer come first" and walked off. If this location cannot handle doing door dash in addition to the regular volume of the restaurant, then please stop offering door dash services. Don't treat the drivers who are servicing your customers like dirt. The way that I was talked down to this past Friday was inhumane to the point that the other door dasher also waiting, look at me with a look of utter shock after your employee aggressively lashed out at me. We are door dash, not door matts."

"Went for a lunch during the work day. Service was really friendly and not overbearing. Had the chicken sandwich with a side of Parmesan fries. The fries were delicious and the chicken sandwich was decent (I know, who goes to a place with “burger” in the name and gets a chicken sandwich). It felt like I got what I paid for. Atmosphere was average - kind of quiet and simple, but inoffensive. I’m sure it feels different during the dinner crowd."

"The olive burger was amazing, great flavor with lots of olives. The hand cut fries were very good too, but the homemade ketchup and mayo w/ garlic was the key for the fries. Top notch food!"

"So I went in here yesterday with a friend to try something new and I instantly fell in love. The whole place is really nice, it is bar service and Jenny was amazing. She answered all our questions chatted with us and truly made it an experience. The homemade ketchup is almost like a tomato bisque and it was so good. I got the Fries with Old Bay seasoning, I forget what they called them. And they were delicious. The double lake burger was also amazing. I added ham to it since they had another burger that had ham on it and I was not upset in the slightest by that decision! While I wasn’t able to try any drinks this time I am very interested in the Adult Caprisun that was in the special board. Jenny even let me know they were available for carry out! Looking forward to going back and trying all the things I didn’t have the chance to the first time!"
