"I cant speak for the education at Cheryl Stockwell, but the administration at Cheryl stick well is a joke. They do not care about education, they do not care about their teachers, and they do not give any type of support for the staff. This is a perfect school to go to if you want your child to be able to get away with assaulting and cussing out a teacher. All this school cares about is getting money from rich families and making sure the school “looks good”. If you send your child there prepare to be bombarded with the school asking for donations. I cannot stress enough that if you are a new teacher, please do not teach here. It’s a clique and if you aren’t in it then you are ostracized and made fun of. I’m sure the teachers are great, but the administration is a joke. The stockwell family should pay more attention to their lying and uncaring administration. Please quit your jobs for the good of the school"
"We played basketball with this school both at our house and theirs. I have to say the sportsmanship these players as well as their coaching staff displayed was down right ridiculous, uncalled for, disrespectful and just plain sad!!! And to witness the coaching staff go right along with it was just horrible!!! It was just really to bad, they had a lot of talented players on their team and played a better game, but had zero class!!!! Glad our athletic director will not be scheduling any games with them in the future!"
"While the school claims to help children with character development, the administration fosters a culture of bullying and intolerance and refuses to take steps to change this and will not put measures in place to protect children, yet when asked about it they will lie and say they have policies, that if you take the time to read their handbook, do not exist. After looking into this, we also discovered that the kids have a lot more educational opportunities at the public schools that the administration at CSA claims parents must paid for, are actually free, CSA just doesn't want to pay for it. It really is too bad, years ago this school was on a great path but they have really gone far away from what they intended and claim."
"I don’t recommend this school if your child have some kind of disability. My son has hearing loss. He went to Kindergarten to this school and it was terrible. The teacher almost never used the FM system to allow him to hear better in the classroom. This school never gave him an IEP, and during half of the school year they denied him the education because they only allowed him to go to school from 8:30 AM to 11:00 from Monday to Friday. Also, this school never contacted the hearing lost consultant in Livingston county, even though they knew he has hearing lost. It’s a terrible school. So, if your child has some kind of disability DO NOT send your child there because CSA won’t provide the services that your child needs, and it will discriminate your child, like it did with mine."
"My youngest son started at CSA in the 2015-2016 school year. We chose CSA after comparing their program offerings to the program offerings from the school he would have been assigned to in the regular school district program. To put it mildly, there is no comparison to the program at CSA when compared to the program at the non-charter school he was assigned to. The CSA program allows him to progress at his own pace, in a nurturing and encouraging environment. He LOVES going to school there, and as a parent, this is all the proof we need to know sending him to CSA was the best choice for him. The staff is excellent, communicative, and supportive with all facets of his learning experience and just as terrific with his social development as well. You owe it to yourself, and your children, to take a good long look at CSA and all that this school offers."
