"Said I was too old to attend and yet on their website it is stated there is no age limit. What a lie they do tell. Be careful when you tell them your age as they are very biased. Update 12/05/22. have not heard back about why they say one thing and the opposite happens. I sent this issue to a lawyer friend of mine and was told that it happens all the time with institutions like this one. Most times I want to try and understand why they have a restriction on age."
"My personal opinion is somewhat biased because I work as a part time instructor and ship's officer for the summer training cruises at Great Lakes Maritime Academy and in my opinion GLMA offers the best opportunity and most efficient means for someone to get into this career path as a professional mariner. AND we teach ship piloting not just navigation or engineering, that is unique in the world."
