The Halfway Bar & Grill

"You can miss The Halfway Bar & Grill if you're not paying attention, but trust me, you WANT to pay attention. Their burgers are phenomenal. The owners really care about their product and establishment, and it shows. I had the Ollie burger - covered in green olives, but not just any green olive - queen size olive slices, the best mayo, crisp lettuce and delicious cheese. The burger was cooked to medium-rare perfectly. My partner had the Scooter Skillet burger, covered in cheese, mushrooms, peppers and onions. The homemade chips and fries were delicious as well!. They also have a nice selection of beer available. I can't stop thinking about the view outside their windows either - the river and marsh out one, and Lake Michigan out the other. Seriously, can't wait to go back, especially in the summer. They also have entertainment certain nights of the week, so definitely check that out if you have the time! Can't wait to go back!!"

"Amazing place with an amazing owner and staff! My husband and I made a trip to go kayaking, unfortunately the rental place was closed. So we stopped for a drink here, owner sparked up conversation and brought up that he has his own canoe and we can go on the river with it if we’d like. He got us all set up and we were able to have a nice ride on the river. We will definitely back for the awesome service and good time."

"Stopped in for a fish fry on my way up to Escanaba. Have driven through Cedar River a thousand times and never stopped. It was a slow night there but the perch was some of the best I’ve ever had. Homemade coleslaw. Homemade French fries. Perfectly cooked. Cool atmosphere. Cheap drinks. Nicely priced all together. Very nice server. Will be back."
