"I've taken the time to read all these great reviews, unfortunately I wasn't so lucky. I had a lot of difficulties with one particular loan officer. At first he was really nice but when I was offered a better deal with my current mortgage, this loan agent turned unprofessional. From the research I've done, CrossCountry Mortgage has a very good reputation. Unfortunately I had the worst experience. Not only was the loan officer unprofessional, he was childish and vindictive. Make sure when dealing with this office that you ask for one of the loan officers listed in the reviews posted. Otherwise you may get unlucky. Very sad that I had to file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. In 45 years of being in the workforce, I have never worked with any financial service where the behavior I dealt with was acceptable. Coming from the financial sector, I would have been removed from employment had I treated a customer the way I was treated. Consumer beware and research."

"Im sure they are no worse than any other mortgage lender, but just be warned, the purchase process was such a pain they made my wife cry multiple times by threatening that we would lose the house if we didn't act right away and get them the information they needed. Needless to say we have had our house for two and a half years now and they have sold our mortgage TO THEMSELVES twice. Both times has affected our credit because it gets reported as a closed account and shows up again as a new 0 month long account. Those of you who understand how credit works, know how damaging this can be to your average credit history length. Don't expect to have a 15-30 year good standing account, even if you pay it on time every single month, be prepared to have a closed account and a brand new account added at least once per year, maybe more. I honestly wish this tactic was illegal because obviously they do this to save themselves money (or make extra money for themselves) regardless of how it affects you or your credit."

"I couldn't even get someone on the phone to help me start a pre approval. Transfered by two people and hung up on. Is this the customer experience I should expect when a mortgage is actually started?"
