"Great place to deal with"

"My company has been screwed over time and time again by Carter Lumber, costing my company thousands of dollars in lost profit, customer referrals and damaging our reputation with multiple clients If you want to do business with a company that is completely unresponsive. Then give Carter Lumber your money. You will not get your product undamaged, or when promised, if you get it at all. They just don't care. They get paid in full when you order, then leave you hanging. Tried calling the headquarters, they would not even take a minute to speak with me. They put you in voice mail to leave a message, then do not bother to even show the most basic courtesy by getting back to you."

"Charged us 30,000 over budget to frame our house without any heads up about the overage till it was finished. Please use Niehaus lumber for all your framing needs."

"Called about lumber to replace stairs outside and the guy who answered was nice, but very wrong about my order requirement. He said that a 15' board would do all 5 stairs. That would be true if each stairs was 36" or less wide. They are 38" so a 15" would be about 10" short. Good thing I did the math myself."

"Sent one of my employees to grab sheathing for a job. Carter lumber clearly has no problem taking advantage of anybody that walks into the door. Charging $25 more per sheet then the 3 other local lumber yards within 10 Miles. Price gauging at its finest…When showed prices from local lumber yards they said that corporate makes the prices and all sales are final. I called the Carter lumber in Burton Mi, said they are charging $37 per sheet…$700 diff on my order"
