"Riders Beware! I usually don't post reviews unless the experience was exceptionally well done or remarkably horrible. I tried to place my experience in a survey Trailways sent me about this trip using Barons, but the survey website wouldn't upload my survey responses and commentary. I purchased a ticket for Barons on the Trailways website. Because Trailways, Greyhound and Barons all sell tickets on the same websites and all use the greyhound bus terminals, I contacted Trailways after never receiving an email confirmation. The Trailways rep said he resent it twice, but I never received it, and it was not in my Trash/Junk folders either. The Trailways phone rep offered a possible explanation that Trailways website notable has issues with hotmail accounts. When I asked the Trailways rep what I am to do when I arrive at the bus station, and he advised me to call Barons. Barons rep told me to just present my picture ID and the confirmation number. When Barons Bus #289 arrived at the Columbus OH station, I asked an older, Black male with short graying hair and poor dental hygiene if this is acceptable for boarding that bus to Cincinnati. This driver was so gruff, unprofessional and rude - he just blatantly ignored me and continued to scan riders behind me. I tried again, and he did the same thing. One my third attempt, he gruffly told me to go inside the makeshift bus station and to ask the attendant. I went inside and there wasn't any attendant. I waited and waited. As I saw the live to board the bus getting down to a few riders, I went outside and approached a security guard who was able to contact the attendant. The attendant had taken a break(?). The attendant said that because my ticket was purchased on the Trailways website and not Greyhound, he has no ability to do anything and that the driver should accept my ID and confirmation number as proof of a ticket. I went back to that driver, and told him what the attendant told me (the same as I'd already told this driver 3X), he, still with the worst attitude possible, gruffly grabbed my driver's license from my hand and did what I asked him to do initially - look for my name on a list and match it with the confirmation number and driver license I presented him. I was one of the last 3 to be seated on that bus. Being that I arrived at the bus station an hour prior to departure, it was stressful since I hadn't received the confirmation email, no one was manning the desk inside, and the misbehavior of bus #289 driver. The ride was eventful. The driver straddled the line between both lanes. It was so disturbing that at least three 18-wheeler trucks honked their horns at the Barons bus driver and cars drove as close to the shoulder as possible when passing the bus. When the Barons bus driver of #289 was in the left lane of the road, he was driving the bus on the actual bumps which tell the driver their going off the rode by making the tires rumble. It's apparent that either Barons fails to drug and alcohol test their drivers or this driver is wickedly tired and grumpy. Either way, I'll never patronize Barons bus lines again and advise anyone within earshot and reading this post to not buy a ticket on this bus line either. Btw, we were about 20 minutes late leaving the Columbus OH bus station since this driver was smoking and talking. Disgusting behaviors to match a sloppy person with a disgusting attitude to match."
"So this bus company left at least 14 people at a 7/11 in Mansfield at 8:50pm, so far in the middle of nowhere that an hour spent on the Uber and Lyft App resulted in no rides. At one point 4 policemen showed up because of threats of violence outside. The bus company could not be reached, because their business hours don’t match with their driving times. Most passengers spent 7 hours in that 7/11 until the next bus came through at 4 am. Oh and after this insane evil, their partner greyhound refused to reimburse passengers. Run the other way."
"Just arrived back home today - Thursday 11-30-23 from the 2 day trip at the Christmas Festival of Lights at the Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia. Sam, our driver was very pleasant, friendly and professional and a great driver on the hills and winding roads in West Virginia. He exemplified skill, pride in his job, being engaged and friendly and professionalism in his job. I have experienced many drivers on charter/ group tour bus excursions and Sam definitely provided our group a relaxing and safe journey! Thanks for a great trip!"
"We just had 2 charter busses for an eighth grade trip to Philadelphia and Gettysburg. We had 2 drivers during or 3 day trip. Both were excellent drivers, patient with a group of 13 and 14 year old kiddos and very accommodating. The bus was comfortable and had so many features! It was a wonderful trip! Thank You to Mark and Rosemary for getting us safely back and forth!"
