"I went to this store to return a private brand item that I had purchased at a different DG 20 miles away. The item had not been used and I had the receipt. I was told I would have to take the product to the store where I purchased the item. Considering that DG is not a franchise but is in fact a corporation, I called their corporate Customer Service line where they briefly researched the policy and then stated "Dollar General brand items must be returned to the store where purchased. However, private name brand items can be returned to any DG store in the US for full refund.' This was one of two DG in my neighborhood that gave me the same runaround. Both stores had very friendly staff that wanted to help me but felt their hands were tied. Dollar General...Train your staff!!!"
