"IMO, this is one of the most beautiful urban parks in the country, rivaling The Mall in Washington DC. The green space is really neat and well maintained, and is great for a stroll. Fascinating that this large space actually sits on top of a convention center. The surrounding buildings are equally beautiful, again reminiscent of DC. The public art scattered throughout the park is worth a look as well. And finally, if you walk further north, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of Lake Erie. There are several parking options. We found street parking (free during our visit) a few blocks away, near the public auditorium. Prepare for the weather, as the expansive space can get exposed to the elements. We didn't notice public restrooms within the park premises."
"The Mall is the early 1900's "Group Plan of Public Buildings," inspired by Daniel Burnham's "White City" of the 1892 Chicago Columbian Exposition. Note the types of buildings surrounding 3 sides of it and note that philanthropically-funded institutions (art, music, university) went up out at University Circle."
"Good place for a stroll with scenic views of the lake and downtown buildings. I was with a pet and the grass park up top the convention center was much appreciated!"
"A nice green grassy area that was very well-kept when I visited. The grass was actually in really good condition, and people were lounging and chilling, some walking dogs (one let her huffing and puffing pug off-lead which I wasn’t a fan of), and another painting. There was a lot of rubbish strewn about, but I think it was mostly due to the lack of bins everywhere. It has a great view of many downtown skyscrapers and down towards the lakeshore. There is a memorial fountain for those who have perished in wars and a statue of Lincoln with the Gettysburg Address inscribed on panels in front of him. It’s technically for the old department of education building nearby, but still in the park. Highly recommend, cheers."
"Green space located in the heart of beautiful Cleveland Ohio; great for playing frisbee with the boys or staring at grass for extended periods of time."
