"The weight room is small and lacks a lot of equipment. The small weight room is constantly packed… think it would be wise of the ymca to combine the weight room with the women’s fitness room to make a gym large enough for everyone."
"We absolutely love our YMCA of DeKalb County!! It’s a great place to go. My kids like to meet up with friends and do activities wether it may be basketball, swim or lift weights. The atmosphere is great, the staff is nice, the facility is clean. Then there are all of the events that YMCA hosts that involves the community year round, the outdoor summer events are especially fun for families."
"This is a wonderful asset to have for the community. It can get crowded during peak hours of usage. It could use some more off-peak swimming pool hours. All in all though a great facility."
"Two of my teenage sons had Youth memberships. We decided as a family to get a family plan and paid for the entire thing a year in advance. We were including those two teenage sons on our plan. Their monthly payment had just come out and we were obviously not aware of the "giving a two weeks notice before date of payment" to cancel that particular subscription. My husband called Diane Aschliman, the member services manager, to ask if she could please refund the TEENAGERS $16 since we had moved them over to our family plan. She refused and said that could not be done. This is supposed to be a Christian organization and that right there was a bold face lie. Also, being a Christian organization, and seeing the situation where we were not canceling some thing we were just moving it over (and paid for the entire thing ahead of time) you would think that $32 could be given back for two teenage youth subscriptions. I think this is extremely poor management and of course there is no one to go above her head to have a conversation with about it."
"This is the second time my son has been enrolled in swim class and he loves it. The instructor is great with the kids. However, they have a different life guard now and he is always on his phone. If it wasn't for the lifeguard not doing his job I would of gave 5 stars."
