"Had not been to VDO in probably a year. My husband wanted a pair or two of inexpensive jeans. It's amazing to get "sticker shock" at a second hand store. The majority of nice jeans were $30-$40/pair. He walked around and looked at t-shirts, Hawaiian shirts, and long sleeve shirts. No bargains there. I walked around women's wear, and found the items to be overpriced. The only item I liked was a t-shirt, and it was $8.00. I told my husband " This is not a Consignment Shop! I will take you to Kohl's and get you new jeans for $40". I don't even like Kohl's. But we went there and the Lee's, which are the only ones he likes, were $44, buy one, get one at half price. So he has to new pair of jeans."
"I have spent thousands at this place. I cant use there restrooms I get sick and dizzy after using there restrooms the air fresheners are way to strong i wish they would install or fix there ventilation. From the moment you walk in the air is powerfully laden with chemicals it feels like there hasn't been fresh air in that store for months Allergies sufferers beware they add allergy triggers into the air that trigger migraines, lung issues, i wish they were more respectful of there costumers with allergies ."
"I don't know if all village does this but today I went this location and they had bundle of loose games for $5 and the employees tried to say it was $50 and I believe they did this to make more of a profit because it was also colored as the color of the day plus wen I walk away they tried to shave off $10. I found the disc's on the wall of bags in the corner by the emergency exit not behind the counter. If it was truly $50 for those games they should have been behind the counter where it should have been for electronics and have it clear that it's $50. Village thrift is going down hill and they are getting greedy over FREE items they get, know your place and I don't recommend going to buy there junk. Good will is better and priced better."
"I used to shop here all the time and it was my favorite place to thrift some great clothes and at good prices, I used to encourage everyone I knew to shop here. But I won't be returning anytime soon because they have gotten greedy. I'm so disappointed to see the prices skyrocket to the point that it's worth it to just spend the money on new clothes. I get it that they need a profit and to pay their workers but the amount they're charging now is ridiculous. Shirts and jackets are mostly $15-$25 now and anything considered relatively mainstream or name brand just gets another $10 added onto it. I've seen some ridiculous things like a fur jacket that literally had a huge cut in the back priced for $100! That should've been thrown away!! Absolutely greedy and I will not be returning."
"Compared to a lot of different used discount stores in the area, this one is pretty clean and well organized. It also had name brand bags (real & knock offs) and a lot of name brand clothes. They offer 50% off specific colored tags of the day and $1.50 on other colored tags. I definitely see myself coming back and shopping with my daughter. Surprisingly, quite a few options for summer in swimwear and sandals. I do believe they could get rid of a lot more inventory if they lowered their prices. $90 for a Michael Kors used bag is a bit much when you can get that at TJMaxx new for the same price or $45 for used sandals."
