"David provides the best of many worlds for me. He is very well trained (used to be on the UC faculty when they had a program in athletic training), is learning continuously about evolving training strategies, takes me through very individualized training sequences and is an extraordinarily positive person. He keeps the cost very low for the time he spends with clients by working out of his home. He pushes me hard at my request, but there is VERY low risk of injury because 1) he really knows what he is doing 2) he watches closely and modifies or ends an exercise when he can see that I'm close to exceeding my ability and 3) the Pilates system he uses is designed to protect against injury. He lights up when he has gotten a new piece of Pilates equipment to use with his clients; he always does exercises himself before he has me do them. After a year and a half of working with him, I am in much better shape even though I was playing tennis 3 times a week before (and after) I started with him. My only negative comment is that I have to drive 40 minutes to get to his studio. David Carroll is a rare gem. Noel Free MD"
