"worse than a puppy mill, will make you jump through hoops like a circus animal. Unfortunately, my experience with this company has been far from satisfactory. Despite my initial enthusiasm and hope, they have proven to be unreliable and untrustworthy as an insurance provider. Here’s a rundown of the issues I’ve encountered: 1. After filing a claim, it was closed without explanation, leaving me waiting for payment for 14 days. 2. Upon contacting them, I was kept on hold for 27 minutes only to be told they needed more information, which they allegedly already communicated to my vet. However, my vet confirmed they received no such notification. 3. When I followed up with Figo, I was informed their app was down and that they would now process the claim. 4. Despite their assurances, I was then bombarded with paperwork and additional tasks for my vet. 5. After more back-and-forth, I received a claim closed email with a broken link and no information in the Figo app. 6. Upon calling again, I was told my plan didn’t cover the incident because it fell outside a 14-day grace period for illnesses, even though it was an injury, not an illness. They then cited a bizarre 6-month grace period for skeletal injuries, leaving me baffled and frustrated. I had signed up for their highest-tiered plan at $57 a month for my beloved rescue Chihuahua, only to be met with disappointment and a sense of being scammed. This experience has left me questioning the legitimacy of their services and I am requesting, at the very least, a refund of my initial premium payment."

"Used Figo Pet Insurance for one year and was satisfied with their coverage for my dog Ginger. I got a discounted price through COSTCO, $40.79 per month. At the end of the first year the monthly price went up to $56.63 per month. This is a 38.83% increase. Ginger is a year older and we filed two claims in the past year. The increase was unreasonable. I called the company and was told there was nothing they could do to adjust the price. I do not recommend Figo! I will find other coverage."

"We chose Figo after our vet nudged us to get pet insurance for our new puppy. I am so glad we did. After being perfectly healthy and happy for the first six months with us, our little boy developed a slight limp when he was around eight months old. He ended up being diagnosed with bilateral shoulder OCD, a condition that typically worsens unless surgically corrected. Anytime we would let him run or play with other dogs, the limp would come back, to the point that he would not put his left front paw on the ground. Of course, we opted for the surgery. Figo could not have been a better partner. Without them, we would have been left with an unexpected $9000 bill. The process was flawless. It took two minutes to submit our claim on the Pet Cloud app, it was approved two days later, and we were reimbursed a week after the surgery. Figo handled everything in the background so we could focus on our dog's recovery. I don't write reviews often, but our experience with Figo was certainly worth 5 stars."

"I've experienced 3 other pet insurance companies, and Figo is by far the best due to: 1. How easy it was to speak with customer service when I had a question, and when my question needed someone else to provide an answer, I was able to speak to that person during the same phone call, and get an answer. 2. How easy it is to use their website to file claims, and how fast they are at responding to claims. 3. Choosing coverage and seeing what is included is also very straightforward, and they provide flexible options that the customer can adjust coverage and see price differences. So, I plan to continue purchasing pet insurance with Figo, and would like to do so with our future dogs as well because if/when you need it, it's makes life so much less stressful knowing you can make financial decisions about the well-being of your pet knowing you are covered."

"Poor customer support - has phone number been hacked? Original policy was issued 12/20/2022 and automatically renewed on 12/20/2023. My dog had tooth extraction on 12/20/2023. Claim denied on 1/9/2024 based on tooth extraction was within waiting period. However, waiting period only applies to original policy not renewal policies, Policy definitions #43 and Benefits section #5. Appeal promptly on 1/10/2024. Received only computer generated receipt stating I would be contacted. As of 1/18/2024, no response and no status indication in Pet Cloud. Called customer number simply to make sure the Appeal had been received. Customer support wanted all my credit card info including 16 digit number and date of expiration - THIS WAS NOT A BILLING ISSUE AND THIS WAS NOT THE ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT. FIGO automatically bills my credit card every month with no issues. I declined giving such personal credit card identification to some customer support person who had absolutely no need for it simply to find out if my Appeal had been docketed. Date of experience: January 18, 2024"
