"Staff at front desk was very rude from checking in to checking out. Jamie one of the nurses was HORRIBLE. She was very pushy acted like she didn't want to be there. She would ask you questions about previous mediation my daughter was on then instantly talk over you when u went to reply while rolling her eyes. She was extremely unprofessional and was not friendly with the kids either and doesn't need to be there! Lauren on the other hand was wonderful to deal with and came in after Jamie. She was great with the kids and very friendly and playful with the kids. She also explained everything she was doing and ACTUALLY Listen to concerns or questions I had. Lauren was the ONLY positive thing with this visit and TRUST the reviews people are leaving. Lauren I hope management sees this because you did an Excellent job and can tell you LOVE your job and what you do."
"My son is only 3 months old so I haven’t had many interactions with them but when I did, they were all negative. another desk is always rude and nasty to us and several other issues we had to argue with them on, such as scheduling other kid’s appointments under my son’s account and running our insurance, causing a big thing with insurance. They told me “we put on Joey’s account it was a mistake when making the appointment.” But when they called us to tell us there was an issue with insurance (how we found out about it), they insisted we did in fact have this appointment and then called my husband to ask if I brought our son in and just forgot. But anyway, for the first time, I called today because my son isn’t feeling well. They refused to schedule me an appointment and told me to “soothe him and use your mommy judgement. You know what’s best for your child.” Well. I am using my mommy judgement. That’s why I called. But they’re right, I do know what’s best for my child. He now has an appointment with a new pediatrician’s office. Sucks because we really like Helena, but I refuse to be dismissed and disrespected like that. My son deserves better."
"TRUST THE REVIEWS. I have always gone the the Poe Ave office and I love Dr. Mergler but had an emergency visit that couldn’t wait so I had to go this office. The doctor we had was rude and was rushing and pushing and suggested catheterizing my child while we waited to get urine sample from a 2 year old! The next day, I had to call for results because no one called me. Then I found out it was positive and medication was ordered but never sent my pharmacy. Fast forward two days, I had to go back to this office because my child broke out in hives to which started after the we took the antibiotic. I told the doctor I first thought it was eczema at first, but then it reach her lower half and her neck and face and she said her throat hurt. So it was definitely a reaction. After looking ant my child and hearing what I had to say, the doctor was very dismissive and said it was probably just eczema and to watch it. She reviewed my child’s file and then notified me she probably didn’t need the antibiotics because the results showed a minor bacteria. The doctor I saw said it wasn’t reviewed by her doctor but a doctor put the order in. Someone looked at it and no one called me to tell me she didn’t need the antibiotic to begin with. As she was rushing out the door I asked about Benadryl for her hives and rash and said oh yeah, “take that about every 4 hours for 48 hours watch the rash and make sure she’s still breathing”. Had I not asked. She wouldn’t have said a word about it. LASTLY, the didn’t even exam my child other than look at the hives / rash. She did not look at my child’s ears/ nose/ throat or listen to her heart rate or lungs. My child was misdiagnosed and put on a medication that caused an allergic reaction to which I was told was not a reaction. I will never go here again. I would rather spend 2k at an ER than to have my child misdiagnosed and mistreated and ignored as well as have them NOT listen to me and my concerns for my child. Note, her dismissiveness was so bad, my older child even mentioned how rude she was to me."
"They were incredibly rude, could care less about our kids or our family, and misdiagnosed our child and almost cost him his leg in a staph infection a year ago. So when we pushed to get him the care he deserves, they sent us a letter saying they are releasing our kids and will no longer serve them. Incompetent doctors who don’t know the difference between allergies and strep. Don’t care about kids and giving them care they deserve. When calling the on call doctor, she was incredibly rude and after telling me I was wrong for over 5 minutes, she finally admitted she had NO CLUE who my child was or who I was talking about! They could care less about safety of children and coming alongside parents who want the best for their kids and instead will throw you to the curb if you question them and ask for better care; especially after my son almost lost his leg because of their negligence and inept doctors."
"I can guarantee the practice is losing money because their billing department does not know what they are doing. They think it is fraudulent to use private insurance and selfpay for the co'pay and forgo state coverage. After having the argument once (and winning) with my first grandbaby they then denied her newborn brother who was under weight and had been asked to be seen by Dr Blumberg. They did not call ahead to inform of any issues instead waited until the appointment to deny s eing him. Both babies are now with a different practice. The Dr's are out of touch with the back office staff who are actively killing the practice."
