Summa Health Family Medicine Center

"This post is not about the doctors nor the personnel. I have no qualms with the service I have received at this facility. My complaint is with their billing practices. Everyone should know, before they choose to go to the Summa Family Medicine Center, what expenses they will incur. I have been there twice, and each time I was billed twice for the amount of my copay. When questioned about it, I was told that one charge is for being seen by a physician (professional charge), which is what one would expect. The other charge is a facility charge. What?!!! Instead of being honored that you chose them, they charge you for it. Unbelievable!"

"It took me a very long time to find a doctor who treated me with the compassion and dignity that I find here at Summa family. That's what it is, a family. If my primary isn't available for some reason, I know I will still be in very capable hands with a different provider in the practice"

"I’ve had multiple visits canceled or rescheduled last minute and received attitude when I arrive for my appointments and find out it’s not that day or it was canceled all together. I check emails regularly for MyChart and received no email. If there was a phone call it occurred while I worked and wasn’t able to answer or call back before they closed and no voicemails were left. I understand that the doctor is busy and has a life but it has been more than three times in one year and trying to get in is also difficult for patients who also have busy work/family lives as well. Several times I’ve also been told my insurance will cover visits only to find out later my visit will be costing $80 out of pocket. When I do get in, I’ve been treated great otherwise, but the scheduling conflicts have been absolutely out of hand, inconvenient, and frustrating."

"THE WORST CARE. I've taken my mother here for diabetes and other health issues. When the appt. was made the receptionist said she would have to over book Dr Decker which put our appt at NOON. We arrive before noon to check in and are told we were suppose to be there at 11. The Dr was at lunch but would still see us. The receptionist told me NOON. We waited 30 mins. The Dr had paperwork that had not been filled out or faxed over for home health aide that I had been wondering what was taking so long. Now I know!! Dr seemed to have no idea what was going on. Her chart and meds did not match meds my mother was prescribed (and this is my mother's primary care physician???) Needless to say, I wouldn't take my sick dog here. Might want to look somewhere else, maybe someone who has an idea of what is going on. Sad to say."

"I have used these doctors for more than 40 plus years, my children and grandchildren are also patients. Now there are times when frustrated persons seem under-served, but there are other alternatives to getting the service needed. There's rapid care centers and hospital emergency help, which can provide more extensive testing related to after-hour problems. But I have seen my share of residents, but there is no Doctor better than Dr. Anne Valeri-White, we have built a relationship and she is a great care giver. This is a large and sought after practice that has been stable in this community for 40 plus years, and they deserve respect for the services they can provide. I Absolutely Love Them!"
