"We never even got the chance for grooming. I scheduled full grooming for our 2 Havanese and was so pleased that the lady told me she'd schedule us for July 3rd as she really hadn't booked much for the holiday week. When my husband and I arrived with our dogs, she was inside the locked building with her lights off. We got her attention, she finally came to the door, she immediately said "I only had you down for one dog" when I know we discussed 2. Then, as she's still standing in the doorway, says "Besides, I already have 2 big dogs in here and I really don't want to be here today." I was slightly shocked and just said OK. She then just shut the door! No reschedule or anything. Needless to say, I won't go back."

"I called Barc Ave a few days in advance and they were able to work me in for my two shelties! My boys were in full shed mode when I took them. My bi-black boy can be a little pain in the bum when it comes to brushing, but they handled him so well with care. They both came out of Barc Ave so handsome and happy! The trim was exactly what I wanted. Their nails were done beautifully. And they had little, festive bandanas on too! I'll definitely be back in a few months!"

"The lady running the place is a sweetheart and you can tell she's very passionate about what she does! My dog loves going and he looks fabulous after every visit. Nothing like a good smelling pup to snuggle up to!"

"It looks like some people have had a good experience here. Unfortunately, I got stuck with a different groomer and did NOT have a good experience at all. As a result, we ended up at the vet. I took my two dogs there for their first visit (we're from out of town) and I had an uncomfortable feeling when we first arrived. There was one lady behind the counter that was grooming a brown and white dog. She was yanking and yelling at him "to quit being a big baby" as the poor dog continued to yelp. I should have left after seeing that but I didn't because I thought the other groomers there made me feel OK. I came back two hours later for pick up and the owner immediately told me there had been an accident. The lady had cut off one of my dogs pads and wouldn't stop bleeding!!! (It won’t allow me to upload the bloody paw, check it out on yelp). And then I noticed she had blood all over her mouth and which we figured out she cut her tongue too! The lady who did it never apologized, but instead she used every excuse possible. On top of that it was such a terrible hack job everywhere else. When we got home, I found other cuts on her chest and legs. She should considering use the noose to keep the dog in place. Both dogs get groomed every 6-8 weeks and have never had anything like this ever happen before. Although the owner apologized and waived the both grooms, I would never go back here. I ended up taking my dog immediately to the vet and they wrapped her up and gave her antibiotics. The owner offered for her groomer to pay the vet bill, but not worth the hassle dealing with it. Like the other 1 star reviews for this place, I am sure I will get a brash comment in response to this post. If you're taking your dog there, just be cautious on who you get as your groomer. So glad I got there before their nails were trimmed!"
