"I love this shop! I first learned about kiteboarding when I visited a few years ago and saw some boarders out in the bay in between FWB and Destin. It looked so cool that I did some research and found out what they were doing. I found XLKites and did their lesson package - an absolute must if you want to dip your toes in the water. All of the kiteboarders I know also go to XLKites - it's kind of the entry point into both the sport and the community around here. Mike, the owner, and Connor are excellent instructors and can guide you through getting all of the right equipment too - including making sure that the kit I was buying made sense for the weather patterns around where I was living in Connecticut. I will also add that XLKites does more than just sell really large (XL) kites and lessons. Seeing some of the other stuff they offer kind of makes you feel like you stepped into a movie set 20+ years into the future. They carry Lift eFoils, do powered paragliding, and can take you out flyboarding (yet to try the ppg or flyboarding, but on my list)."
