"Avoid Carnival Paradise out of Tampa Port. A waste of money. Food is awful. Everything feels cheap, the food in the main dining is ALL pre cooked!!!! , buffets are like a high school cafeteria and the warmers don't work.. food was often cold.,kids menu items were gross . Ran out of chicken nuggets, regular Pepsi, arugula and more. Unless you want to eat a loaf of pizza all week it sucks! I didn't even mind paying for room service but at least offer food on it that isn't pizza again!!! Midnight buffet was a joke!!!!!!Entertainment was not enough and what they had wasn't even good with the exception of Uncle Johnny and Paul Hooper. , kids area and camps.. my kids wouldn't even go... Not welcoming, seemed boring. Pool was small and there was only one!! Casino was decent.. didn't win big but kept playing. Staff was fantastic, I hope those people get paid well for how hard they work. We made the best of it but will never go on a Carnival cruise again."
"The food was good, but not great. Most of the drinks were very delicious. The majority of the staff were friendly, helpful, and just plain nice. The boat, itself overall of mold. More than half of our party of nine were suffering from sinus issues as a result. There were chairs that the paint was peeling off of. There were a lot of rusty areas that you could see, there were wet carpets. cigarette smoke was found in many non-smoking areas of the ship. It’s a small ship and it was a gift of a trip. Apparently it’s a very affordable cruise and I did have a good time. I was glad to spend the time with my family."
"Traveled on Carnival Cruise Line's Carnival Conquest for a 5 day cruise. Was a lot of fun there are many activities to do on the ship and when on the private island also the Bahamas. You cannot access your room until 1:30 on departure day but they let you access the buffet and deck until then. There are about 1000 staff members who do such a great job keeping the ship running. There are elevators and stairs all over the ship. While many things are included with the price paid there are some on board games you have to pay for like Bingo and the arcade, everything is cashless so they hold $100 on the account to pay for things likes games and drinks if you don't have a drink package(you need the drink package for sodas or pay for them individually). You can always settle up your bill at guest services or on the Carnival app. Drinks are usually around $12 a piece Breakfast lunch and dinner are available either by restaurants, the buffet, or stands with burgers, sushi, and sandwiches, they all close at different times. I'm not sure about the other restaurants but at the buffet for bacon and sausage only beef or pork options were available and the same for the hot dogs and hamburgers, but there is a veggie burger at the sandwich stand. There are 3 pools along with hot tubs but they were usually pretty full with the kids swimming. One pool was for adults but it was usually full pretty early too. Make sure to book all your excursions early including clamshell coverage tents there are no umbrellas available on their private island and the sun is hot, the clamshells sell fast along with all the other excursions, they have a nice bbq with a lot of options at the private island. For the private island they give ticket times the day of because the boat can only take 400 over at a time so you might have to wait if you have a later zone. It's best to send someone to the 5th floor at 6 to get tickets to get a earlier time to get off the boat they start at 9:30 letting you off, but the line is really long to get the ticket so be there early. The deck area shows movies at night or there is music playing, also there are other parts of the deck that are quiet to just enjoy the sun and watch the ocean as you sail. Karaoke is very entertaining along with the trivia played in the lobby. If you want internet service there are packages for it on the Carnival app for 24 hours it's $22 for the whole cruise it could be $88 or more You have to be off the boat by 9:30 on disembarkation day but you can still get the buffet breakfast before you leave #cruise #Nassau #buffet #cruiseship #carnival #travel #food"
"Went on my first cruise on the Paradise, had a great time. The staff was amazing and friendly. It was really neat to be on a huge boat and watch how seamlessly the crew works to make everything go so smoothly. The ship definitely showed it’s age and was definitely filled with people who were very serious about getting wasted which is not my thing, but it was a great time and I will cruise again for sure. I do wish we had longer times in the ports. We only had about 7 hours each port which left me feeling a bit too limited on time to do any of the longer excursions for fear that something would end up being delayed and I’d have to worry about not making it back to the boat on time. Also, if you have never cruised and are a bit nervous about motion, TAKE DRAMAMINE with you!! You WILL feel the boat move especially if there is a strong wind like we had our first couple of days. I don’t get motion sick but I was definitely concerned and had to double up on meds to make it through my first night. The next day, even though there was still plenty of movement, I had grown accustomed to it so it wasn’t that big of a deal. But don’t wait to find out that you feel sick and disoriented without having medicine to back you up."
"I went on my first cruise with Carnival Paradise and I had such a great time as opposed to some negative reviews here. The ship itself was decent and clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Onboard restaurants were top notch, entertainment was very good and drinks were abundant. I just had an issue with the swimming pool which obviously got murky quite a lot but I cared about going to the beaches more! Not bad for a cruise that departs from my home city of Tampa!"
