"The blue haired girl who recently started working at the mail center is rude. She has such a bratty attitude like she thinks she’s better than you or something. Another student who works there black hair doesn’t hide the fact that she hates working and will move around sluggishly and act like your presence is inconveniencing her. It’s a job, act like it. What happened to the adults working here? They really need to rethink their hiring process"
"Management is TERRIBLE 1. Hallways are stairwells are filthy, there’s broken equipment in the gym, and the gate to get into the parking garage has been broken a good part of the year. 2. The wifi is terrible. We were told it would be fixed earlier this semester, but it’s worse than ever and goes out multiple times a day. 3. Communication between management and maintenance is practically non-existent. We’re given a week-long window anytime routine work needs to be done, so there’s really no telling when maintenance will actually come, leading to awkward and uncomfortable encounters. Maintenance has also shown up to my room to do tasks that no one in the apartment requested. Very disorganised system that needs improvement. 4. The worst people live here, and management does nothing about it. Rules aren’t enforced, leading to a free-for-all. My neighbors blast loud music all hours of the day multiple times a week, and the RA’s don’t do anything other than knock on their door and tell them to stop (which doesn’t help if the offender doesn’t answer the door). As far as I understand, there’s no penalty for repeat offences. People run up and down the halls in the middle of the night and vandalize the bulletin boards, and nothing is done about it. The 5th floor reeks of pot and cigarette smoke. (This is supposed to be a smoke-free building.) People leave trash in the hallways and stairwells even though there are signs up that say not to, and nothing is done about it. Today someone left a bottle of piss on the first floor and it spilled everywhere! Management needs to start fining people who do things like this because it is absolutely unacceptable! (They won't ,though, because they don't care) The rooms here are nice (furnished private bedroom and bathroom, walk-in closet, full kitchen, tv, washer and dryer), but that’s really Northview's only redeeming quality. Look for somewhere off campus, preferably somewhere that isn’t owned or maintained by UCF"
"Horrible wi-fi. They claimed that they were replacing it this semester (fall 2023) for an "improved connection" and it is actually worse than before. Multiple machines are broken and unusable in the gym (see photo of broken cable), the treadmills shock your hands, and the hand sanitizer in the gym is never filled. They also don't allow you to use the pool after "sundown". Despite it's other flaws, the postage here is great, and maintenance is pretty quick. I would only recommend living here if you aren't paying anything out of pocket, as it's convenient yet costly."
"The guy that works at the mail center is super rude. He won’t give you your package unless you wait 2 hours after HE receives it. I got a package today at 2:30 pm and I have a flight at 5:00. I came to talk him to see if I could get it before and he was very rude and talked to me like my dad. Like no respect at all. Also, Wi-Fi is trash and staff is on your room almost every week, checking your smoke alarm or checking on you. Living comfortable 30 min away from UCF is way better than moving here."
"Not perfect but far from the worst place you could dorm at on campus. Wifi has been (mostly) fixed but using Ethernet has never been unreliable even before they overhauled the internet. Amenities are clean but I don't use them enough to say much about them. From what I've heard the whole building has improved significantly in the last year or two so it's at least somewhat more worth the price. Every room besides the lofts are great, the kitchen has somewhat old appliances but they work well and the TV in the common area is genuinely amazing. Bedrooms don't have the thickest walls but it's never been an issue for me and they're roomy enoguh. Just don't get the loft: highest price of any room layout despite having the smallest bedrooms. I got the normal 4 bed 4 bath which is why my rating is high. Overall the technical aspects of the building range from great to at least competent, only exception being staff not communicating with residents about things like fire alarms in a timely manner. Outside of that the only real problems you're gonna have are with other residents. I got lucky in that all my neighbors are either quiet or far enough away that noise doesn't bleed into the room and that all my dorm mates are responsible and mature, but like any dorm you're surrounded with 19 year olds who just got their first taste of freedom. The best course of action is to either get the highest or lowest floor you can find to minimize neighbors above or below you and hope you get lucky. I haven't had problems with neighbors but from the loud engines I hear at 1am in the parking garage I wouldn't be surprised if other people here do. I will add that the whole building is laid out in an incredibly bizarre way. Only floors 3, 4, and 5 have hallways that connect every room of the floor. The parking garage only goes to level 6 and none of the parts of the building are connected on the 6th floor, and only one of the 3 parts of the building have a 7th floor. It's very hard to explain and I don't think it detracts much: it's just weird and notable. All in all, it's a good enough place to live. If this is your first year and you know nobody at UCF yet, it's more than acceptable. Federal aid automatically covers your bill and if you have a bike it's very convenient to get to campus and even if you don't the shuttle is a great alternative. BUT if you already have people you want to live with here, find an actual apartment because payment is per-renter not per-unit. I'll update this review around the time I move out if my mind changes on anything."
