"Do not move here, the staff will treat you like garbage. FORT FAMILY is the wrong name for how this company works.. family is the wrong name.. shameful company.. they let their employees live in apartments and smoke weed all the time also.. right next to other families with children. UP DATE!! they are trying to sue me for 11.5k after being evicted from my apartment for non payment after I suffered a heart attack.. known as the widow maker.. I am 33years old.. I don't need this added stress from this bogus family.. charging me fees for not cleaning.. not removing my stuff.. I was evicted.. they put all of my belongings out on the land in front.. including personal information.. medications.. like it was trash.. I am also a veteran who suffers from ptsd and MST (military sexual trauma) I wanted to stay with this apartment complex because it was supposed to be family owned.. .nothing but greedy people.. they don't even give a discount for veterans.. fort family should be called rich family.. they also hire nothing but ignorant people.. I was also with them for 4 years.. but after my heart attack.. nothing.. shameful to be that way towards vets and people who are struggling... I bet love these comments... the most disturbing company I've ever had.. please.. please be aware.. they do not care if you're struggling.. or a veteran.. no family involvement.. just a greedy family.. I would email the supposed family if I knew the number.. I have never been more disrespect ed in my life.. I had more than 40 people driving by asking if I needed help.."

"If I could leave zero stars I would. mold Mold mold MOLD. And - mildew smell . management (Theresa) who does not care about tenants and makes excuses for every concern you have. DO NOT MOVE HERE SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE. This complex is NOT luxury as advertised. No matter how often apartments are sprayed - roaches still are everywhere including around the amenities. You cannot even fully use the amenities you paid for as you are asked to leave the pool while watching a football game at 7pm- very aggravating. Please look elsewhere and save yourself two thousand a month on a dirty apartment. People who work here are so dishonest and will tell you anything to move in . maintenance manager Tyler is rude and leaves a mess. I wish I never moved in here ."

"When I moved in the apartment was dirty. I ran my robot vacuum in every room and a ton of dog hair was in the carpet from the previous person living there. There was also a pile of dirt that accumulated between the washer and dryer that the previous person probably left there and the apartment complex did not check to see when they inspected (more on that later). This prompted me to come out of pocket and hire my own professional cleaner a day after we moved in, who uncovered an even bigger mess. Then upon move out we hired a cleaner to come and deep clean everything before we left. Instead of appreciating the fact that we left the place CLEANER than when we moved in, the complex charged us for damaged carpeting and the use of their own cleaners, which cost over $400. To make matters worse, they did a walkthrough with us and said NOTHING. You can't trust the people at the front I guess. The carpet was old and needed replacement before we moved in, as evidence by the cleaning I needed to have done upon move in. We were just charged for the utter ignorance and lack of maintenance upon move out. Moving onto the leasing of this place, absolutely DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING FREE from this complex. They gave us a "free" garage upon move in that we never used to begin with. To then get charge $4813.71 when we broke the lease early because I needed to move for work. For the people counting at home, thats now $5200 for a dirty apartment we got charged for and a "free" garage we never used once. As far as ammenties, you can find better elsewhere. Jacksonville is full of places where newer communities are built and things are kept more up to date. Alaqua's pool is always dirty looking, the outside area needs upkeep, and the common area indoors looks old. The breezeways also are spider infested. The best thing going for this apartment complex is that it's relatively cheap compared to others in the area and they have high ceilings in the apartment which gives you the illusion that you have a bigger space. However, once rent increases (and you know it will because these people are joke scam artists), you should have no trouble turning in your keys and leaving. There's better elsewhere, I promise."

"My husband and I wanted to thank Victoria and Buffy for all the help they gave us. They were so professional, responsive and knowledgeable. Victoria took the time to show us every property and couldn’t do enough for us. Buffy was more than accommodating, sincere and very tenant oriented. We basically chose Fort Family because of Victoria and Buffy. They are both very sincere and genuine. Most of all they made us feel right at home with their personal touch.
