Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront 225 East Coastline Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32202

"On Feb 10th the Hyatt Regency Riverfront had a fire around mid-day. We were planning to arrive that evening. Approx. 7 hours after the fire occurred, Hyatt called and cancelled our reservation and did not have any options available at other hotels. Our reservation was booked with a free award night we earned through the "brand explorer" promotion (stay at 5 different Hyatt hotels and earn a free night). Our free night was redeemed, even though the hotel cancelled the stay and we had to find other last minute arrangements due to the fire. No one at the hotel (multiple calls) and no one at Hyatt corporate could get the free night restored, so we lost it. Hotel staff offered to add some points to our Hyatt loyalty account, but the promised points never came. So we not only lost a free night that we had earned through paid stays, the hotel staff repeatedly lied and did not make it right for us. My recommendation is to try a different brand hotel when travelling, or at least avoid the loyalty program. Will update if any positive outcome occurs."

"The area is depressing, full of homeless people, dark at night. The rooms had a musty smell. The shower faucet was almost frozen in place by mineral deposits. The hotel restaurants were unimpressive for a hotel with a huge business clientele. Their fitness center was nice. Better than expected."

"After an unsatisfactory experience at another hotel, I called the Hyatt and explained my situation so that I could reserve a room and was accommodated with an early check in to make our transition as smoothly as possible. It was greatly appreciated. Valet was a wonderful, easy and quick to follow up when we texted for our car to be ready. We were able to charge our lunch from the Tavern to the room easily (and our waiter, Jorge, and bartender were also great.) Every receptionist I saw greeted us with a warm and genuine welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our river front view from the top floor. We will only be staying at the Hyatt after this trip. Huge thanks to everyone here!"

"We had requested house keeping that never came, well they did come once at 4pm and we were showering at that moment to get ready for dinner so it was inconvenient. The room was fine although it said queen beds and I sleep on a queen bed and these were double beds and they sank in the middle so the sleep itself was uncomfortable. Other than that location was beautiful and staff was nice outside of house keeping. Fridge was cold no microwave though in the room so that was inconvenient considering the restaurants are all in the hotel so more than likely you'll take something to go. Speaking of the restaurants, they were wonderful food was amazing, wait service although short handed were very attentive"
