"I know people who have been on section 8 housing for 4+ years. At that point it is ENABLING and closes the list for people who need help before their life crumbles due to homelessness. The waiting list is closed for that reason. I’ve been homeless over a year with a dog, they cannot help me. But I’ve seen them help drug addicts for years- one being my mother Jacqueline Soto Sanchez who bullies me when I am at her house that they pay for, while I watch her snort drugs as she calls me homeless because YOUR company has enabled her to do so. I just need a safe place for even one week and they cannot provide anything for me - a sober, intelligent, woman of god. Ridiculous and shameful. You don’t care"

"The verandas is bad. People steal stuff outta dryer. People poop in hallway. Lotta angry old people wanna fight and argue. Very little parking. Management has favorite people. Door is broken since hurricane 9/28. No security building."

"I’m still in great distress and distraught about my housing voucher being taken away from something that was out of my control. Also it should never have been able to be taken away being that I have mental health conditions as well as physical. I’m disabled. And bipolar depression is one of the things that I suffer from. They were nothing but rude to me from the start. Ignored my emails plus more. I wish there was someone else I could talk to. I’ve slept on the dangerous streets because of them.."

"I currently live in Verandas and completely concur with greg kenny. I'd like to add though, that I do not smoke but I live in cigarette smoke about 15 hours a day from the smokers social club with about 18 members who congregate for hours on end right outside my apartment and smoke, get loud, and often also getting drunk and raise hell. Additionally, with every single apartment off of an inside hallway, I liken it to a hospital the way noise reverbarates. The management of the veradas and also the PGHA are pathetic and incompetent. Oh, and though they spray inside, this site has major infestation and for the 1st time in my life of 60 years, Iexperienced getting into my vehicle and immediately getting covered in ants - when i looked down at my floor board, there was a literal trail with 100s of ants."

"whoever decided on pumping money into verandas must have been on such a big ego trip that they couldn't see the piece of junk that they were creating. brand new construction with cheap 70s fixtures, e.g. single bowl kitchen sinks, ice makers you have to manually shut off, dishwashers with a single jet. terrible waste of space, apparently to make every single unit wheel chair accessible - the kitchen is the biggest room in the already tiny unit (dumb asses) and living room so small you can only fit a single sofa or love seat and recliner (see the pic on PGHA website with love seat and recliner cramped together). there are no breaks in space, i.e., every single unit is off one continuous hall that must be about 4 football fields long, and with hard tile floors, you hear everyone going and coming so that it is more like living in a big giant dorm than an actual apartment. it is very clear that the housing director who replaced the director who built gulf breeze (a very nice public housing complex) is not as competent and probably only got their job because of their gender."
